Take I540 to Alma where you will get on I40 West to Fort Smith where you will turn onto Highway 71 South to Texarkana. Highway 71 between Fayetteville and Alma LINK used to be the road you had to take back in the day prior to the construction of I540 and it is pretty with some steep and hairpin road stretches but no need to take an RV through there--just do I540. The Pig Trail LINK (Highway 23) takes to you to I40 at Ozark and it's a thriller too but again no need to take an RV through there. You still get good views on I540 and get to travel through a short tunnel at Winslow.

At different times I have seen big trucks on their sides from tipping over while on 23 or the north section of 71 between Alma and Fayetteville.

If I were driving an RV I wouldn't take 71. I'd drive the extra miles knowing that I'd have some cell coverage if I broke down. 71 is a pretty drive in a car but the interstate is a safer bet in your situation. WAZE is showing more miles but only about 15 minutes more time.
