Mike started busting his arse at recruiting after the debacle last year when we lost our starting 5 and then had the counterfeiting controversy. That was a wake up call.

Macon is proving to be the star of this class, I hope he stays. Next year's class is another big talent influx like this year.

some of you ovbiously don't understand the politics and land scape of arkansas basketball recruiting.
\

Arkansas basketball recruiting comes down to one thing.

Parkview High School. it's that fricking simple. You lock up parkview high school and you lock up the state of arkansas. No coach in america has more influence at the high school level than Al Flannaign does on little rock kids and the college they go to.

Little Rock per capa is 6th int he nation in top 100 recruits out of 1 million residents. Today three players from parkview (Anton Beard, IJ Ready and Daryl Macon) started for teams in the SEC.

Going back to the nolan days, coach rip was pissy that he didn't offer a scholarshipt o Quincy Lewis who went to Minnesota instead and ended up going to the NBA. To pour salt in the wound he didn't offer either of flannigans, who at the time was parkview's assitant coach, kids Wes (Auburn) or the other (Ole miss). By the time the midget lol jason harrison didn't get offered there was an all out war between the U of A and parkview with Flannigan activly steeriung kids to go elsewhere.

The problem is that parkview basically recruits locally. if you are good you go to parkview.

\Anton always wanted to go to arkansas but Flannigan wasn't having it so he commited to mizzou. Beard really did want to go to Arkansas and left parkview to get from under flannigan so that he would not be harassed about his decision to go to arkansas. Portis would have went to parkview as well had flangigan not been fueding with arkansas instead he went to hall.

flanngian realized that the kids lke mike anderson and has opened up and they seem to be on the same page now nad have buried the hatchet, becuase as long as flangian was steering the best kids away from arkansas the best kids weren't going to go to parkview anymore. this is the longest streak in which parkview has not won a state chamopionhip that i can remember though they should win it this year.

now anderson has garland and henderson both top 75 recruits nationally from parkview coming in and if franklin had the grades he'd be there too. as long as mike has parkview in his back pocket recruiting is going to be a okay.

if mike and flannigan weren't fueding, kevaughn allen would have been at parkview instead of north little rock and he'd be a hog.

You speak the truth, I remember going to games at Parkview as a kid 20 years ago, and we didn't even know anyone who went to Parkview.

Mike Jones from parkview is my older cousin. Mike was an olive branch from nolan to try to bury the hatchet but by then it was too late and nolan was half way out the door.,had mike gone to any other school had have been a ualr Trojan

Arkansas literally has locked up all the talent in the state for the next three years outside of the pig that plays with Connor and we have justice hill in the same class. Arkansas basketball is about to have a revival

Macon ain't going no where no worries there. Its Burford you need to worry about but I doubt he leaves either. Every one should be back next year

Burford has NBA measurable. In the UK game they literally could not stop him. Barfords game translates extremely well to the NBA he has a size advantage on just about every pg he will face and can get to the rim at ease and will be easier in the is heavy NBA. He also plays elite level defense. He just needs to take care of the ball better and work on that jumper a little more. Barfords is basically a bigger pat Beverly
