5-2 with the hardest part of the schedule behind us. Could very easily win 10 with a shot at 11 depending on bowl matchup.
I think easily is a bit of a stretch. I know you guys have gotten us back to back (and in pretty convincing fashion) but there is generally nothing easy about our game. Good luck tho!

They are a 10 point underdog on the road but of course they should "easily" go 4-1 minimum in the final stretch

Yes, that is very doable

Enos is a tricky one. He's a hell of an OC. But his resume at CMU as a HC is awful. Both Brian Kelly and Butch Jones had success before him, and the current coach appears to have them on the right track. And that job was right in his backyard. Any AD is going to take a long look at those five years as HC.
When hired at Arkansas, he said this. Not sure if coach speak or true:
“At one point in my career, I wanted to be a head coach, and that was the whole thing I dreamed about and talked about,” Enos said. “I've been a head coach. The one thing I'll say about a head coach: It's not all it's cracked up to be. I had a coach tell me one that, one time, a very successful NFL head coach told him that. ‘Remember, it's not all it's cracked up to be.' That hit home with me.
But what he's done at Arkansas is remarkable. Finding guys who can develop QB's is easier said than done.
If he does want to be a HC again, the iron is hot and Cincy is job where someone should be able to win at a high level. And they have a history of hiring CMU HC's. just usually successful ones.

If it's any consolation, Auburn will be the hardest team left on our schedule.
Florida will be tough but we get them at home.
LSU the week after they play Bama = auto win
Missouri and State are terrible this year.

Doable? Absolutely
Going to happen? Not a chance
Arkansas won't finish better than 3-3 to finish the year

quote:Auburn's offense is abysmal. LSU's overrated per the usual and will fall out of the top 25 before the season is over. Florida is from the SEC East and isn't even the best team in that division. None of which are better than the Ole Miss team we just beat.
will steamroll three straight ranked opponents?

To be fair he had to do a complete offensive style change. Kelly and Butch are spread guys.

It was mentioned in the Football Four podcast by Dan Walken that if he doesn't turn things around next year they will not hesitate to move on.
Then either Walken or Michigan State are total idiots.
He's been there since 2007. During that time, he's made a bowl every year thus far, won 11 or more games 5 of the last 6 years, finished ranked in the top 10 4 of the last 5 seasons, and made the playoffs last year.
Hell, they'd had TWO 10 win seasons in their entire history prior to Dantonio's arrival.

Meh, you know jack shite about our team so I couldn't care less what your opinion is

Dude, you don't understand. They put up 38 on Mississippi State. Mississippi State!!! We've only played Alabama and Ole Miss.

Even if we lose this weekend, we still have a decent shot at 10 wins post-bowl.
Florida at home after a bye week.
LSU at home after they play Bama
Mississippi State
Missouri
Plus this is the time of year where we really start turning it on

6 FGs against LSU = Gus Bus is full steam ahead

Even with this shithole of a team, Dantonio is safe for a bit.

For one bad season? I doubt that.

That would require you to go minimum 4-1 + bowl game victory against UF/LSU/Auburn Mizz/MSU
You are suggesting a team around 50 in efficiency, outside the top 30 in FPI and hasn't had a convincing victory yet will steamroll three straight ranked opponents?
just from this thread alone.
you Gene...get it...have confirmed for all to see that you might be the dumbest football fan ever.

If he gets offered it... then it might be a good job.
Cincy, Lousiville, and Kentucky are squatting on some prime recruiting grounds.
There is enough talent in that area to win a national title. And Ohio State has proven that recently.

He was a really good recruiter while at MSU....I'd happily take him :/

With the Cincy job being all but available. Are there rumblings in Fayetteville regarding Enos and the Cincy job?
No rumblings and he likes being the coordinator here.
My estimation is he will leave for a P5 job if/when he leaves. He left the HC position at Central Michigan to come here. Knowing that, then it would make sense for him to only leave for a P5 job. I know most of us think all coordinators want to be HC's at some point, but I am not sure Enos really cared that much for it to be honest.
