The South Carolina Gamecocks face perhaps their biggest game of the year in Week 2 of the upcoming 2018 season, when the Georgia Bulldogs come to Williams-Brice Stadium.

The matchup could end up deciding the SEC East title, so it’ll be one of the biggest games of that week or any week.

On Thursday, former South Carolina TE Tori Gurley joined “The Paul Finebaum Show” and guaranteed that the Gamecocks would pick up the big-time victory:

South Carolina will upset Georgia.@TGurley81 guarantees it:

I don't really see why this is noteworthy.

I guess it is the off-season though

One of the good qualities as a coach that Muschamp has is that he really, really knows how to shorten a game and make it tighter than it should be. In 2012 when he beat something like 3 top 10 teams, he basically played keep away and then relied on the final minutes.

It could work with Georgia if they don't try for quick points. You definitely don't want to grind it out with a Muschamp team.

I could see South Carolina taking this game. If anyone other then Georgia is gonna compete for the East, it'll be South Carolina.

We'll probably drop that game and probably still win the East at 10-2 or 11-1.

This too shall pass.

Florida's schedule sets up very nice, if Mullen lives up to his hype as a coach then I wouldn't count FL out. UGA would have to kind of blow it though, relative to preseason expectations.

I'd rather my team fired up for that game and believing they can win then going out on there like sheep to slaughter.

Can they beat Georgia? I dunno. At home certainly plays to their favor. My concern, for USC, is that they are putting in a completely new offensive scheme and tempo. I think it will be beneficial to USC in the long term but that early in the season the Gamecocks could still be working the kinks out.

The Bulldogs, however, also have a lot of pressure on them. With LSU and Auburn still lurking on the schedule an early season stumble could make winning the East very difficult to pull off.

It will be close early. However, it's gonna be hot as hell and USCjr will be too tired in the second half. UGA has far more depth on it's roster.

It's SC. The team practices in the SC heat. I think they're probably used to it come September.
