That's what I love about Arky.

Everything is so paradoxical and fun.

Nice lie. Hope you feel better after this silly attempt. Now get back on your sister-wife and tell your daughter to take the lens cap off before filming this time. Stupid bitch. Just like her brother-dad.

I have thought a lot about why Texans are so arrogant as an outsider. I have a theory:

There are basically two other states with the population, political resources, and natural resources that Texas has: Cali and Florida. They were all independent countries at once, and they all have a distinct brand. But Texans are more arrogant.

Why?

Cali people are prideful of their state in that it is a liberal Utopia. They boast how backwards everyone else is. But they lack real state pride, as that would mean believing in something intangible and that is too close to religion for those folks. So most of their pride is regional ("San Fran is best", "LA can't be beat", etc.).

Florida on the other hand is made up of carpetbaggers who bring pride in their old state with them. Too many care about their home state of Ohio to have massive pride in Florida.

Meanwhile Texas is filled with multi-generational Texans. Even better, the northern states love picking on Texas which re-enforces Texan pride. Add in a much stronger economy than the states that surround Texas and you have a formula for ultra arrogance.

In fact the only thing I see that might damage Texas's claim as the most arrogant state in the future is the large minority that waves the Mexican flag before the Texas one. But even they still love "Tejas" and they love the Dallas Cowboys, so that population's growth might not change anything.

What made you decide to live in CS?

I'm here for graduate school. A&M has some fine educational offerings and I have defended it tooth and nail on here and elsewhere as a good university, at or near the top in the SEC. Having said that, I did not move here for the town. It isn't a terrible place, it's just way too redneck and country for my taste. The carbon output here has to be at retard levels for the size.

I respect A&M and the university as an educational institution. I cannot and will likely always be unable to understand "Aggieland" or all the weird shite surrounding the football program. I have many Aggie friends and love to bantor with them , and they are good people even if not what I prefer. If people like it here, more power to them. Mostly to me it seems like a suburb full of county folk but not near the cool city like suburbs usually are.

I think the fact that Texas was a Republic aid to the feeling of independence. We're just proud to be Texans.

Funny thing is, there is no Republic of Texas without Tennessee. Those Vols are our forethathers so blame them if you don't like the Texas mentality.

Cali and Florida were once both independent nations and they are different. Heck just the fact that many Texans believe that only Texas has the noble history of once being a nation kinda proves my point.

I lived there for over five years and did not find it to be primarily a hick town. There is a lot of Texas country music in the area, but I consisder that to be a godo thing. Northgate has a mixed of places not country music related, and alot of places like Harry's played other music as well.

I did not see an abundance of monster trucks either, but I dont see anything wrong with if I did

Are you sure you don't see any hot girls with the 50k students. I do understand graduate school may be a bit more limiting in that regard especially if you are here for engineering.

Where have you eaten for BBQ? CS has decent but not great bbq.

I am not going to touch the horitculture thing, because that is something I honestly ever noticed nor cared about while there.

Well I'm not here for Poultry or Engineering lol. C'mon man it is full of cowboy hats and big trucks, it is hard, I mean hard, to find someone here who doesn't love Rick Perry. Of course there are hot girls, it just seems like a much lower per capita amount. Especially when it comes to girls who don't where boots and espouse evangelical beliefs.

The California Republic, also called the Bear Flag Republic, is the name used for a period of revolt against Mexico initially proclaimed by a handful of American settlers in the Mexican territory of Alta California on June 14, 1846, in Sonoma. This was shortly before news of the Mexican–American War had reached the area. The participants declared independence from Mexico, but they did not form a functional provisional government. Thus, the "republic" never exercised any real authority, and it was never recognized by any nation. In fact, most of Alta California knew nothing about it. The revolt lasted 26 days, at the end of which the U.S. Army arrived to occupy the area. Once the leaders of the revolt knew the United States was claiming the area, they disbanded their "republic" and supported the U.S. federal effort to annex Alta California.

Not really the same thing now is it?

The city of College Station Police Department released the following information in a news release in reference to a Disorderly Conduct: On July 29, 2012 at about 0210 hours officers responded to the Northgate area for a report of a large disturbance. It was reported that there was a large fight in the area of Shotzi’s bar. While responding, officers heard several gunshots being fired in the area of the fight. These shots were also reported by numerous individuals in the area. On arrival officers were unable to locate any persons that may have been shot, nor did they locate any suspects due to the large number of people in the area. Investigation into the incident revealed several shell casings in the area of a nearby parking lot, leading officers to confirm the previous reports of shots fired. Various streets in the Northgate area were closed briefly while the incident was investigated

You know damn well the crime rate in CS is one of the lowest in the U.S. It's also one of the brightest towns in the U.S. and a great place to raise a family. We know you don't like working for Aggies, but that's the way of life. Aggies are smarter then Hogs and it burns you up. We get it. Odds are you'd wind up working for an Aggie no matter what you do. It's life. You weren't smart enough. Get over it.

Naturally.

I'm not sure anyone will ever pinpoint how such a superior team could relinquish such a commanding lead.

Alas:

Such is life.
