The BCS gave us the two best teams basically every time sans AU 2004 IIRC

No.
Like the CFP, it was a system (the first) that everyone agreed to play under.

They were the best we had to work with but the BCS would have given us FSU vs Alabama so right out of the gate they proved how flawed the old system was. Gumps would have begged for the old system. The new system won't let the media slob their knob and give them rematches they don't deserve as often.

How does 59-0 taste, Fawxie?

How many games are now defined as "never been played" because every few years they make drastic changes to the system.

First there are no polls. People complain that there's no way to tell one 10-0 team from another, so polls come about.

Bowl games are considered exhibition matches - until people complain. Polls then award after the fact.

Bowl games aren't giving the match-ups everyone wants, so we get:
Bowl Coalition
Bowl Alliance
BCS

Now we have a 4 team playoff. Those champions will be "worthless" as soon as we go to an 8-team format, and so on.

By that bit of logic, no NCAA Tournament Champion has counted since 2011.

Poll and BCS championship although flawed will continue to be viewed as championships. Bama has 10 of those, Auburn 2. The poll era is still upon us.

Not worthless, but not as prestigious as CFP title.

There are still some really good BCS champs that would have easily won national titles in this format.

Only difference is now you have to play two top 4 teams one on shorter rest.

Ohio St was no better than past BCS champs. They lost to an awful Va Tech team. JT might not have been up to the task of beating the 3 teams Cardale did if he couldn't handle Va Tech

I think LSU or Bama in 2011 could have both won this year easily

I was out of the country for it. Woke up at 7 am in Sydney to watch that shite fest. Hung over and slept through the second half. Still not happy about it.

Just because y'all didn't deserve the rematch? Why does that hurt your feelings? You still have the trophy.

Nah. I don't think anyone believes the system was flawless, but it did get the teams right a lot of the time.

Not all, just the ones from 03 and 07.

Ridiculous. LSU was not one of the two best in 07. USC and UGA were the two best teams.

LSU won the national championship by winning the BCS Championship Game.

You are free to make "The Best Team in 2007" trophies for yourselves.

My feelings aren't hurt at all, just that I'm disappointed in you. Take an event 3 years old and crank it back up is pretty sad.

Bama fans like you Tele because you are the A&M poster "with a little too much Bama in him."

Your posts in this thread must make them feel like you double crossed them.

Yep. Lets take all those crystal balls that all those people played and coached towards for an entire season and make them into something useful. Like a nice window for a church or something.

Lets start with all of the ones that Ole Miss won.
