Taken strictly on his performance in college, and his likely draft status, I would suggest returning another year. But you have to ask yourself if Hurts will get the ball to him enough next year to showcase his talent and improve his standing. Maybe so, but maybe not. As it stands now, Hurts is not the QB you want if you're an elite receiver looking to have a standout year. He may be much improved as a passer after the offseason, but that's a big gamble for Stewart.

Hurts may improve as a passer this off season. I don't know how much time he had with coaches with all the QBs we had, and that Barnett was the presumed starter for a while.
Kid has plenty of arm strength. Polishing up his throwing motion could do wonders, so I'm not going to assume Hurts remains the kind of passer he was as a true freshman.

I was afraid he would jump. He's never going to get picked in the first but I think after the combine he'll vault up some boards. He's built like a brick shithouse and will run in the 4.4s. He plays the game violently and that will stick out on film when these GMs start really dialing into these draft boards. I've seen some scout comparisons to Jarvis Landry. He isn't as polished as Jarvis but has better physical tools and plays with the same attitude.

Stewart's game will translate well to the NFL

On any team that had a competent passing game, Stewart would be ranked higher than 65th best receiver in the nation. Being the #1 receiver on Bama's team isn't really the same thing as being the number receiver on Clemson's team.

Stewart will do very well in the NFL. His game will be an excellent fit with the league's style of play.

Does Auburn have any WR's at all left on their roster?
Eli Stove
Nate Craig-Myers
Kyle Davis
Do you even football?

Another year to do what?
To improve his game and/or draft stock.
Or do you think he's a 1st or 2nd round lock?

The passing game will be much improved next year. Either Hurts will get a lot better or Tua will beat him out to be the starting QB. But yeah I think Stewart's value has peaked. You have Jerry Jeudy coming in next year who will take away some of Stewart's touches. They also have their top five leading rushers coming back along with the #1 RB recruit Najee Harris. I really don't see Stewart having another 800 yard season next year.

Either Hurts will get a lot better
