It's beneficial for everyone in the SEC when the SEC is winning. It makes each respective program hungrier and that rubs off on the fans as well. That means rivalries get more intense and sustain intensity.

The prospect of winning titles, playing in games that affect championship races, etc, are a factor in bringing in top coaches and top players. Without that, the best coaching and playing talent will be gradually pulled away by the programs that are competing for titles.

And, of course, more teams in more big time bowls means greater bowl revenue and more games on TV which also helps the conference because the conference disburses funds to each school.

Since 2000, the SEC has played for 9 titles, and won 8, by 4 different teams, and routinely posts successful bowl records at the end of the season. No other conference is anywhere near that level of success. Each program has benefited by this success.

Is this a mantra you live by? Do you have a spec requirement you give more consideration towards?

The person you want to talk to then is Paige, she is on the OTL. She doesn't like me because I thought she might be a murderer. It was a bad case of miscommunication. She's touchy.

What makes you think Paige is special? Nobody like you.

That's a casual dumbass fan thing. frick the SEC. If Bama was playing anyone else I'd probably be rooting against them. Other SEC teams winning does nothing to help us
Ironically, this was the outlook of the casual dumbass fan before they noticed that all their conference mates were winning, and that they were getting better recruits because their conference mates were winning. Sorry you missed the boat on that concept.

So other teams in conference winning help your team recruit? Do you hear yourself right now? Look at all those recruits Kentucky gets because Alabama is in the playoffs

Yes they do. Kentucky would recruit much worse if they were in the ACC, for example.
They had the 38th ranked recruiting class last year. Duke is a similar ACC school who was actually riding a wave of success, not conference success, duke success. They finished 57th. Why? Is everyone attracted to the Kentucky football brand? Would they rather lose with Kentucky than win with duke? The answer is that they want to play against the best competition. Recruits talk about it all the time.

I think Kentucky is a unique case in they've recruited well by national standards the last couple years because they've gone into B1G country (Ohio specifically) and said you can come play in the SEC. And it's because the conference as a whole has been successful and bolstered by teams at the top being in the NC.

I don't think she's special. I don't know anything about her. Posters on the OTL do. Go talk to them.

Very good example.
