Kiplinger ranked Louisiana Tech #1 overall among Louisiana’s public institutions in its best college values.

First they downgrade to Orgeron and now Louisiana Tech is taking their lunch money

VALUE

A Toyota Camry is a better value than a Lamborghini, but I wouldn't be caught dead in one.

LaTech has always been regarded as a top school for science and engineering, so what?

Tech rocks. I go to Ruston all the time. Much better place to live than LSU...and I got my law degree from LSU.

Ruston is more like Auburn, small town with a small strip and nothing else too do. It's understandable why you'd prefer it more.

Do you charge rent for allowing LSU to live in your head? All LSU all the time.
Guess that is all Arky fans have.

Yeah but the price difference between a Camry and a Lmborghini is nothing close to the tuition difference between La. Tech and LSU so basically we are talking about about a new Hyundai Elantra and a used Nissan Altima that smells like a possum gave birth in the back seat.

They're not even the best school in Baton Rouge.

best college values.

Not the same thing as best colleges. I don't have an informed opinion on which is the best, but you're not making the right argument. If Tennessee charged 50 cents for tuition, they'd be a much better college value than Vanderbilt (though, of course, Vandy isn't public.)

Here is the Kiplinger comparison of La Tech and LSU. La Tech is ranked 4 spots higher for in-state. I think LSU probably assumed they would be highest public.

LINK

La Tech is a more selective school, i assume because they are much smaller, while also being less expensive than LSU.

Wikipedia indicates La Tech is the only tier 1 research university other than LSU in the state.
