Most of Florida's were won by Miami (5) and FSU (3). In Texas UT has 3, aTm has 1 and TCU has 1. The rest of the titles are all SEC.

That's not a "poll"

More like a tally maybe, but not a poll.

I would have assumed more in Florida than 11.

Miami has 5 or 6 and I thought UF had 4 with FSU having 3?

For some reason I thought Florida had one before 96 and Miami one more in the 80s.

Florida did not win the AP national championship in 1984. BYU did.

Do you Alabama guys know that you actually have a baseball team that is doing pretty good so far this year? You don't have to talk about football all year round.

One person at Texas put an asterisk regarding a shared conference title on an interior wall of the building. It was quickly removed.

You guys put completely fake conference and national titles on the side of your stadium. They remain up to this very day.

How you could think those 2 things are equal is God's own private mystery.

Correct, because after UF won the SEC, a group of back stabbing SEC rivals led by Tennessee voted to strip them of the title after UF had agreed to accept punishment on NCAA violations, beginning in 1985. Florida still was named national champions by twenty-two publications including The New York Times and The Sporting News, Florida, unlike some other SEC teams have in the past (see Alabama, national championships) does not claim this questionable National Championship. Also in 1985, after the season in which UF was still not eligible for a bowl, the Eck Rating System, an NCAA recognized selector created by Steve Eck, named Florida as the 1985 national champions, though Florida does not claim that title, either.
