Conference Tiles happen every year, but "games of the Century" are rare and valuable.

Could you imagine how long it would be if Ryan Perrilloux didn't keep getting in trouble. Streak would go back to what? Start of 2003.

And for A&M, considering their coach is only in his third year, its pretty damn good to have the 10th longest streak.

Thanks, I didn't know this. I view it as a compliment, shows how far our program has come. Good info

Um...1971-1982 Alabama? Alabama started at #19 in week one of the '71 season and didn't drop out of the Top 25 until November 14, 1982.

Alabama's longest in school history was 105 (1991-1997), I think it's pretty safe that record is gonna be surpassed.

It was much harder to maintain a streak before 1989 the AP poll was only 20 teams (and for a brief period of time in the 60's was just 10)

Plus, there are more polls per year now. The season has 3-4 extra weeks now all told, which means 3-4 more polls in a single year.

Nick Saban has won 4 national titles in a decade in the toughest conference at 2 different schools.

Pretty sure Sumlin needs to win, you know, something, to make that argument.

I would rather have LSU's consistency and stability than an extra conference title. The worst season LSU has had under miles was 9-5 in 2008. Auburn has a losing season ever couple years. LSU never endures 42-0 losses like Auburn has the past few years.

Do you really believe this? I would trade consistency year in and year out for more titles any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Auburn had a great run in the early 2000's through 2007 and it was nearly as satisfying as 2008-2013.

Nope, but 21-0 probably stings just a bit more.

Texas A&M did not finish the season ranked in the top 25 from 2000-2009. So, all things considered, I'd have to say we've been on a bit of an uptick since we joined in 2012.

C'mon dude. We are LSU, no need to try and garner recognition from Fricking A&M
