I mean, aside from the hilarity of it, I’m proud of how they hung in there. That was a huge lesson for this team. I’m glad they learned it.
It’s no question our secondary is poor, but they did what they had to and we won.

I agree with this.

Plus, I think Arkansas was hiding some of their play for next week (thinking ahead) and them taking Mizzou State a bit for granted and underestimating them.

All of this. The Arkansas players seemed to come out expecting MS to just lay down and lose due to facing a top 10 team. They had definitely been reading their own press for the last week and thought they could sleepwalk to a win.

Then the Hogs turned the ball over 3 times uncharacteristically, one of them on the goal line on the way to a TD. This gave MS the momentum and put the Hogs in a huge hole to dig out of.

Add the fact that Petrino had this game circled and schemed for it all off-season, he and his players wanted this one bad. BP is still an offensive genius and the Hogs' secondary is the weakest link on the team, anyone with a football IQ above zero knew he'd pick it apart.

We were very lucky to escape with the win last night, I think we got caught flat-footed looking ahead and Petrino capitalized on it by throwing everything he had into this game. Arkansas has a LOT of work to do and I think they'll improve quite a bit from this scare

Petrino has never learned how to maintain a lead and close a game. Same thing as when he was the coach of Arkansas.

The fact that we once went for it on 4th and 9 told you Briles was treating this like it was Playstation.

I assume you want a realistic evaluation and not some stupid, silly , knee jerk reaction evaluation.

Arkansas wasn’t prepared and got outcoached. My guess is they were looking ahead to TAMU and played down to the competition. But make no mistake, They outcoached us.

Bobby petrino had this one circled for a long time. And his squad played perfect football.

Arkansas fumbled twice in the first half, once during a good drive and once from the 1 inch line going in and Mo state took advantage of it. We were down 17-0 before we knew what hit us and we were in a dog fight.

Arkansas is not overrated. Let’s just put that to bed. Arkansas put up 600 yards of offense. We can and will run the ball but if you sell out to stop it, KJ can and will beat you through the air. We lead the SEC in sacks . You won’t run the ball on us. We will shut that down. But you can throw it. The middle of the field is a problem in the secondary.

You can beat us over the top. We chase,…a lot. Accurate quarterbacks will hurt us. Quarterbacks that can run when a play breaks down will hurt us. A team may throw for 400 but they wont run against us. At least up to now they haven’t. But we miss way too many tackles. I’ll bet we lead the league in it.

I won’t make excuses, we did not look prepared last night. But good teams overcome adversity. Missouri state would destroy many of the cupcakes that our SEC brethren played yesterday. And when it was all stacked against us, we overcame adversity.

You have to understand where we’ve been to understand where we are and where we are going. I couldn’t give a rip about what people on the rant think I should be in my fandom.

I’m proud of where we are.

TAMU will present a problem because they can slow down our rushing attack. But I don’t believe your QB has the same skill set that Shelley did for mo state. His escapability made him a challenge and they had a great game plan. Odom was outcoached. We were in circles.

Say what you want about it being Missouri state, I don’t care, but I was more concerned about this game than I was any prior to it. I’m glad it’s over . It was a difficult spot for us. I don’t care what they say…Arkansas is still a solid football team. Arkansas and AM will again be a battle.

One thing is for certain… tamu, bama , miss st. And BYU will determine if we are a pretender or a contender. Either way, I’ll wake up and be a proud fan.

Arkansas’ kicking game is suspect,
They don’t tackle well, their WR corps is prettt slaw without #16 and their QB should be catfishing at the Sardis spillway not QBing an SEC Team just to name a few.

1. Re: kicking game…..Unsure how you came to that conclusion. It’s a stupid, stupid take .

2. Re: don’t tackle well….100% agree

3. Re: receivers….we are actually better there than last year. It’s not close. Another stupid take.

4. QB: KJ is fine. The most accurate passer we’ve ever had. He is not an issue. Another stupid take….

So you failed on 75% of your takes. That a passing grade where you’re from?

You reek of sheer ignorance.

Our kicking game is one of the better ones in the conference. We do have issues wrapping up some times. Our WR room is much better. And that Sardis spillway QB has the 2nd best QBR in the conference beating out Dart by 22 points.

Petrino outcoached Pittman. It doesn't happen often, but it can happen. Also, Petrino's team had this game circled all off-season. The Hawgs were likely looking ahead to next week. A perfect storm for an upset, but Arky righted its ship, and all is OK in Hawg world for now.

No it isn’t. Any team with a good passing game is going to shred them mercilessly.

Yes it is.

We get some guys back this week for aTm. And if our opponents OL isn’t good to great, the QB isn’t going to have time to pass and you’re not going to run on us.
