It's a significant loss. But an OM win isn't as impossible as people are making out to be.

Two weeks ago when there was an expectation of him being cleared in time for Bama, a lot of OM people said we couldn't win without him. Now, a few of us have convinced ourselves that we can win without him after all.

we've been through this twice (AJ Green and Todd Gurley) The magic number is 4 weeks.

That does seem to be the magic number these days. He's recovering from a knee injury, so it isn't keeping him off the field but on paper Bo Scarborough's serving one right now.

Really most agama fans and even the media have been picking OM. I think it just lined up well for them the last two years.

As great as Tunsil is, he's an OL. OL's don't touch the ball.

If Swag wasn't playing Ole Miss would have close to zero chance.

Agree, but Tunsil isn't "just" an O-lineman. With him, we didn't have to worry about sacks at that position. And we averaged something like 6 yards per carry when we ran behind him. Without him, we have a freaking RS-freshman at RT. It just narrows the margin for error in the rest of the game.

Nothing new. I've already told myself we will
Be without him. We will see what we have. Yes tunsil in there will help us tremendously, especially with depth since without him we are starting a freshman RT who I don't think is really ready for these type of games/players although it looks like he's developing well. I will be there, hoping for a W, with or without Tunsil.

I'm not de-valuing Tunsil at all. It's clearly a blow and it hurts our chances.

I just don't buy into the "doom and gloom" portion of the fanbase that just assumes it is whats going to be the difference between us winning and losing.

(we can win w/o Tunsil)

Of course we can, but it will hurt us a LOT if he doesn't play. You mean to tell me you feel just as comfortable with this game with Fahn Cooper protecting Swag's blindside instead of the best LT in college football?

Well of course not.

I just don't see Tunsil at the crux of us winning or losing.

I haven't kept up, but is this all related to allegations of getting benefits from an agent? Is this the storm kicked up by his low life step dad?

According to ESPN he allegedly kept a loaner vehicle for too long while his car was in the shop.

ETA: And I say allegedly because if it was known fact by the NCAA they would have given official word on punishment.

It's a common narrative among the doom and gloom sector of our fanbase right now.

He's probably a top 5 player in the conference. Maybe your best player, right?

That's not true. UGA complied immediately during the Gurley allegations and we didn't hear about the punishment for 2.5 weeks. Also, if the NCAA deems the value of the improper benefit to be greater than $700, he will miss a minimum 4 games.

He's definitely the best pro prospect and he's definitely a dominant player, so it's a big loss.

However, we've played all season and a lot of last season without him, and he's not a QB, so I'm not giving his exclusion in this game a "disaster" grade.

Only a QB is harder to replace than a LT the caliber of Tunsil. It's why they get paid the way they do in the NFL.
