My bad for not frequenting The Onion. I have never heard of the shite before! The link was sent to me in a text. I read it and then posted it here. I guess next time I will run a full background check on any other website I read an article from before asking a fricking question about it.

Bless your heart. You could have come back with some humility and maybe even laughed at your own stupidity. Instead you blamed the internet. You are my favorite poster.

The use of satire in literature refers to the practice of making fun of a human weakness or character flaw. It is often inclusive of a need or decision of correcting or bettering the character that is on the receiving end of the satire. In general, even though satire might be humorous and may “make fun”, its purpose is not to entertain and amuse but actually to derive a reaction of contempt from the reader.

Now you're plagiarizing?

This thread cannot get any better.

So, back to my original question. What is the message behind this article? Why direct this at Saban?

Wow, this is just too great. Happy Friday to everyone!

To say I'm dripping with ignorance is completely laughable when compared to all the responses I received in this thread. None of which have answered my original question of what the writers message is behind the article.

I haven't read this entire thread, but I suspect this HS kid is exaggerating Saban's contact with him. The fact that he considers Saban and Miles his "friends" is pretty telling.

OP, what do you know about this Colby Spears kid? What are you thinking this is all about?

So in two years will there be another Onion Article about what this kid did to get kicked off of the team at Bama only to be picked up by AU as their superstar QB?

Is this really a thread that Auburn fans want to start throwing around words like "your brethren" in?

Guys, come on, can't we all stop fighting long enough to help out the OP with his predicament? HE seems to really be bothered about what the implications of this article are. Personally, it sounds like Saban may be violating some NCAA rules with excessive contact.

Is this legit? Hard to believe because if it is true, this kid is extremely naïve. Does he really
think a college coach would contact him to discuss
football because they have a common interest?
Well, if nothing else, this QB must not be interested in wearing crimson and white, because
if this article is accurate, he just burned that bridge.
