I understand the value in going through years like that, but I am perfectly content with what we have going right now. As content as one can be.

Exactly. You said it much better than I did. In one sentence, the buildup to a dynasty is way more fun than being at the height of one.

You guys make it sound like this is gonna last forever. It won't. Savor it. 2009 was definitely special. But 2011 and 2012, repeating, and now going for a 3 peat. Man, it just doesn't get any better than this.
In general, everyone loves greatness in sports. And we're bearing witness to it right now, and luckily for us, it resides on our sidelines. I couldn't be happier about it.

The Bama fans I know personally seem to have gone from rabid and trash talking normal cfb fans when I was in high school (4 years ago) to complacent now, never really saying much about it.

I get your point, I used to get jitters before we played teams like Miss. State and South Carolina wondering if we would squeak out a win against mid-tier SEC teams. It certainly made things a bit more exciting, as these days I only get really nervous/amped up for a couple of regular season games a year. The rest I know we will crush.
That said, I would not trade this era at all. These are the golden years that people will look back at decades from now and talk about just like people do now about the Bear Bryant era. We are witnessing one of the legendary programs/eras in college football so I'm just soaking it in, because one day it will be gone and I'll long for the days I didn't get jitters before playing Ole Miss or Miss. State.

I guess this is my point. I don't enjoy being content when it comes to my passion for college football. I don't think there is a fan base in any major American sport besides Alabama football that is completely content with where they are.
I don't mean for this to turn into a schedule thread, but just looking at our schedule for a minute. We have two games that are expected to be even slightly competitive. The rest we are something like 14 point or higher favorites in. Is that really fun? I feel like we should be scheduling at least 2 major non con games a year, if not 3. That's what USC did during their dynasty.

Didn't we beat everyone except UT and AU by two scores or more that year? That 2009 team was pretty dominant most games.

All of the Old Dudes on here have no Idea what you're talking about. From the 1960's thru the early 80's is our frame of reference. This current era is simply returning us back to our normal position in the football universe.

I feel you on that. Without a doubt my 3 most unforgettable moments of my college career were the SECCG last year, the LSU game last year, and the '09 UT game. As long as we win, IMO.

That's how I am now. I don't even fight with my Auburn friends because there is nothing to fight about.

As long as everyone is on the same page (head coach, AD, administration), Alabama should win 10 games a year. We won't continue to be in a title race every year, but our program isn't going to fall back into the Shula years either.

I almost tumbled down over the poor saps sitting in the rows in front of me when Amari caught that go ahead TD in the SECCG last year. (Which was right in front of our section btw. 
) Pretty sure I almost fainted. Not sure it's possible to have more fun than that. As I said before, being a fan just doesn't get any better than this imo.
