Smart may turn out to be a great coach, but wouldn't you want someone with a track record. I'd like to see Bert and Butch win a higher % of close games, neither closes the deal well if you look at their tenures in the SEC.

If I had to pick one, I'd go with Bert.

Freeze if he had a buddy in the NCAA. I would even take him over Saban if Saban didn't have one.

Explain how Saban did so well in 2008 and 2009. Before Emmert took over the NCAA.

Les Miles is the only answer. Maybe Gus since he is the only other coach that has won the SEC.

Gotta be Bert. He would know all of the good places to eat and we would all think we were losing weight when we stood next to him.

Agreed. Bert has been successful at another program and has proven he can win. While I hate LSU, I do love Les and would love him to be my coach, he would also frustrate the hell out of me with some of his coaching decisions. Bert's style of play is boring, but I think he maximizes the talent of his players as well as anyone.

Les Miles.

I know LSU "fans" see him as stubborn, but he wins a lot of games. Plus, he is the perfect role-model and figure head of a football team.

In an alternate universe where Saban was successful in the NFL and didn't make a deal with the Crimson Devil, we're discussing whether Miles is the greatest in college football history.

whew I mean ugh I mean wat I mean damn...

I'd have said Richt last season but he gone.

Can't go Butch or GusBus, haven't seen them sustain

Sumlin? no

Merlins is greasy to me, no thanks

Beaver western division might be gone soon so no

Fat Bert? Well Wisconsin did ok with him. Consider yes

Mason I think is a good fit for Vandy and I think will have some success if given time but not LSU caliber

Stoops

Smart- jury is out plus I ain't fighting UGA for one of their own

Beaver Eastern division- I need to see more. Last yr was nice early but ugh the last part of the season was worse than what LSU went through

So I guess either Bert or Beaver East

The HC's are mainly CEOs in this league. Combine $$$+ Saban's lack of ethics and the protection from the league head office.

Ole Miss had it all going for it accept they had no protection from the league office.

LSU has it all, but their HC keeps getting in the way.

If I could not have Saban.....I would keep Bret! But if I had to pick, Kirby! Just think he will be professional on building a roster and hiring good assistants. He should look similar on Defense to Bama. Offense, not sure where he's heading?

I expect this answer from most Bama fans.

Though Kirby has done a damn good job recruiting at Georgia so far
