Not quite the same thing but weddings are scheduled on purpose.

"A man had 50 yard line tickets for a LSU game.

As he sat down, he noticed that the seat next to him was empty.

He asked the man on the other side of the empty seat whether anyone was sitting there.

"No," the man replied, "The seat is empty."

"This is incredible," said the first man.

"Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the LSU game, the biggest sporting event in the state and not use it?"

The second man replied, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This will be the first LSU game we haven't attended together since we got married in 1967."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find someone else -- a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?"

The man shook his head. "No, they're all at the funeral.""

My brother is getting married on October 21, the TfrickingSIO. He's a Gator fan and I mentioned this to him and he said that the wedding would be over by gametime.

He didn't take into account the reception after the wedding and the party at his house that night that starts at 7.

I got married in March. C'mon bro...

I'm scheduled to play at a wedding the last weekend of October. Since I like money, I begrudgingly took the job knowing I'd be missing a lot of football.

Realized last week it's October 29th...which is a Sunday!

I emailed the bride to make sure that was correct and she said, "I'm not stupid enough to schedule a wedding on a fall Saturday in the South."

That man is getting himself a good woman.

Night of auburn/LSU I'll be at one. Bride said she was gonna kick people out if she heard people were watching the game. Why am I getting married to her? I have no idea

Tread lightly with that one, my friend. Never let a woman get in the way of a man and his football.

My sisters reception was during a big game in k-ville. She did give me the best options, and I got to choose which would be ok. There was a bigger travel game that I chose.

Anyway...I missed the whole reception sitting at the bar watching the game. Left after the wedding party introduction, and got back just before they were saying their goodbyes. Ha.

These TV schedules coming out so late has really sucked. They've gotten way to close to game day decisions.

Are your memories from that game really more important than your kin's wedding?

When I was getting married to my now ex-husband (a clemson fan, no less), the date was originally set for September 2 bc he was in the Navy and bc of his deployment schedule it was sort of necessary. But when I realized that was the same day as the Gamecocks kicked off the season, I changed the date to our bye weekend even though the invitations had already gone out.

My arse was at the Carolina football game on the day..and at the hour..that I was originally scheduled to get married.

My priorities are straight.

I got married on a bye week. Had I scheduled it during a gameday, the pastor probably wouldn't have showed.
