I know some AU fans were optimistic but that's a decent chunk of change and he can come back and get his degree later. I wanted him for the Braves.

Good luck in the MLB. He was fun to watch.

Knew he wasn't coming back. You can't do much better than being upper tier of the second round. I'm happy for him and wish him the best.

Guess $700 a semester and $250 for books just wasn't enough to sway the young man to come to college.

Pitch recognition seems to be a major concern from what I've read/heard. What can AU fans tell me about that?

Auburn OF. 2nd team All-SEC (got jobbed), 1st team All-American. Beast. D-Backs top draft pick. 39 overall draft pick

I thought State fans kept up with baseball since it's the only thing y'all ever accomplished anything in?

Where Grier was picked was actually supplemental picks added to the 1st round.

Dude kills fastballs, a good curveball has him a little lost.

To be fair, hitting a curve isn't easy even for most accomplished major league hitters. Most hitters feast on hanging curves however a true 12 -6 curve is almost unhittable.

Not disagreeing with you, but 90%+ of his strikeouts were 3 curveballs in a row that he chased. It is the big reason why every year his averaged dropped like a fly towards the end of the year when people realized that all they have to do to get him out is throw nothing but curveballs.

I've seen kids with an uppercut swing kill 12-6 curves like it was standing still. All other pitches though not so much.
