He should be suspended from team.

You have a kid dropping the f-bomb in a presser then saying nigg-a. Harrison is completely out of line.

This board has far surpassed 'full retard' in the past day

And yet multiple SEC schools have kids on their respective football or basketball teams with criminal charges.

But yeah, let's kick him off the team and expel him for that.

He's black. It's not about the word, it's about the implied racism behind it

By the way,

Kaminsky isn't black. To say there wasn't any implied racism behind CALLING a white guy (opposite race for those of you who aren't tracking) the same word rather than using it in any generality etc. Nothing should be done though? MLK would be ashamed, all his work undone.

There is a difference in a African American using this term as in hey **** what you doing and the way Harrison used it

People of his age use the word to refer to just about anything and anyone with no racist intent ever meant.

To clarify, you're accusing a black guy of being racist for using ****?

Fwiw, I agree 100% with your outlook. Apparently in this day and age, it's better to be viewed as a woman beating tPOS compared to a racist bigot.

The point of this thread is that the precedent has been set for what happens when a college student uses this word in public.

Its either a racist derogatory term or its not. There aren't some special circumstances for it. This isn't ok, you get to open one gift on christmas eve type of shite that allowances are made for

And just because the precedent has been set doesn't mean everyone should go full retard.

Have him apologize, release a statement, and if he doesn't declare let Cal handle it behind closed doors. Anyone calling for more than that just to prove a point because of other issues have occurred at other universities is pretty hypocritical.

Does this have anything to do with race or the n word? Because he used the n word, does he get a pass?

What if instead he just said 'F*** him!' on national TV?

I actually agree with you here, There isn't room in college athletics for women beaters either. One reason I love our coaches, you won't find that here anymore

Clearly the OU students need to write a letter indicating they were referring to the white type of "....." which isn't at all frowned upon and can be said on national tv without incident

If it feels better, at least the white people that rioted last night aren't being blasted as thugs by the mainstream media.
