We should be a lot better than last year. If the OL can be an average SEC unit, it could be a really good season.

10-2, SECEC

Strengths: Obviously RB
QB: Eason will continue to mature and make passes that only a kid with special talent can make. RB situation and improved receiving corp should make him lots better his soph season. Add the push from Fromm and he could have a breakout season.
Weakness/question mark: O-line. Have lots of young meat. Could mature quickly, could bust. Chaney should be able to work around that with simpler schemes and utilizing TE's and slots more.
Kirby: What's not to like. The guy's loading up on talent and has the passion and pedigree to be a top-tier SEC HC. Time will tell.

Defense should be top 10 with almost everyone coming back. Offense we won't know until we see how our OL plays and if Eason has matured.

I agree, if Eason can mature, he has all of the tools and the OL gels GA can be dangerous. Your D is always going to be pretty good with Kirby. If he ever gets it all together and keeps local talent I believe its like LSU, strong very strong.

9-10 wins, should win the East barring Florida or Tennessee being a playoff contender, which I don't see happening.

If we don't meet that, questions need to be asked.

10-2 if the OL plays well
8-4 if the OL plays like garbage again.

on the right track no doubt. Rivals may want to keep their head in teh sand regarding "talent" but we were in WOEFULLY bad shape at many critical positions the past few years. Just look at the '13 and '14 signing classes which are/were supposed to be our upperclassmen last year/this year. We simply had a lot of work to do, and Kirby looks to be doing that nicely.

Winning the east is a realistic goal. We aren't making the playoffs or winning the SEC but winning the east is very attainable.

are you happy with Kirby

how could we not be? You can't judge a guy after his first year ever as a head coach. In Richt's first year as a head coach he won 8 games and has several clock blunders that directly led to 2 losses. The next year we went 13-1 and finished #3. Guys learn a lot from year to year and I don't think Kirby will be any different.

How is your QB situation

Very good. If Eason has anywhere near the normal projected improvement from a True Fresh - Sophomore year we'll be in great shape. And behind him we have a guy that could push for PT at a great, great number of schools across the country. We're in very good hands at QB for the next several years.

strengths

RB and defense. Our defense returns just about everyone and has a lot of upperclassmen, and of course we have the best returning RB situation in the league.

Weakness

WR is a ? but was a weakness last year and will count on a lot of young guys. DL was extremely young last year but did alright, hopefully they can step up. And of course OL was atrocious last year but added some big and talnted guys so we'll see how that goes.

All in all 10 wins and east is perfectly within reason.

And deservedly so sometimes but this isn't a troll thread and was never intended to be one. If you want to troll go to another thread as the title clearly states Georgia, Not OM Fans.

I see an opportunity to nab 9-10 wins and the East crown, but as everyone else has stated that all relies on the OL improving and Eason progressing. With the current state of the East and Georgia's talent level we should always be at that minimum
W-L.

Just goes to show you that if you have 5 star talent in the skill positions, but 290 pound pussies in the trenches then you're gonna get your shite packed often. Hopefully Kirby continues to reverse the trend Richt had with linemen

So I have noticed several posters state OL is iffy. Was the recruiting just not that good under Richt and now Kirby? Honest question as I always thought Richt recruited a pretty good OL and Kirby always seems to recruit well there when asked.

OL recruiting was a disaster for the last 4-5 years of the Richt regime. TBD on Kirby but it looks super promising. The problem is that Kirby's OL recruits will be freshmen.

UGA could legitimately have 2 true freshmen OL starters this year, possibly at both tackles.

Richt really tanked at OL recruiting at the tail end of his tenure. Would pull in one MAYBE two good guys, and then the rest were just spot holders imo. We could have thrown out a few big ole boys from the stands last year and gotten better blocking.

Kirby has started to recruit better, but we need to see how all the young guys handle SEC competition.

The last few years under Richt our OL recruiting was an absolute disaster and that's about the best way to put it. Early in his tenure we would typically sign a few "highly rated" (mid to high 4*) guys, some of which were solid but a lot of which suffered injuries, transferred, or were just busts. His last few years though it seemed he didn't really place a lot of emphasis on OL (one of donnan's major undoings) and we're now paying the price.

Kirby and Pittman are doing the best they can but when you don't have much to work with it's tough. The OL recruiting beginnign last year has REALLY picked up, but it'll likely take a year or 2 to really see the dividends.

Gotcha, if you don't have a great OL it really doesn't matter how great your QB is.
