So in 3rd and 10, you are going to ask your offensive line to ignore the 3 tech? In UGAs defensive personnel, that is Jalen Carter (3rd down package last year was Travon Walker).

Leave that man for the 205 pound running back to keep him out of Stetson's face to get to the 2nd and 3rd read?

Edit to add: Darnell Washington's chip that threw the defender inside becomes a lot more important if the play is intended to reach that edge.

The reason Stet starts running is because they brought 6 in a blitz. I'm not an expert but it just doesn't look like it starts out as a designed run. It finished looking so perfect that one would question whether it was a designed run. But then why does the right tackle not run downfield to block after his edge man gets taken down by Darnell?, and why doesn't Darnell take out the second man? I can't get over those two things.

The last blitzer is in man coverage on Edwards. When Edwards stays in pass protection to block (the 3 tech by design?), then the last linebacker fires late up the middle (he would have been the most likely defender to catch Stetson on the scramble if he didn't fire up the gap).

Everything looks like a pass play except the running back blocking the 3 tech (which results in the inside linebacker to blitz up the gut as a free blitzer).

I think it is a variation off a pass play designed to get Stetson to the edge with no defenders' eyes on him.

It is insane to draw up a 3rd and 10 play against a pressure look with man coverage behind it where no 300 pound offensive linemen picks up the 3 tech.

The other "features" of the play is Darnell forcing that edge defender back inside the tackle on the release.
All routes against man coverage breaking left.
The first read is to the left sideline to hold/draw the single high safety (along with one of our fastest receivers running right at the safety).

The last thing which makes me think the pass play is doomed to fail to get a first down (other than the 205 pound running back blocking the 3 tech) is the first read being a rub route along the sideline for about 6 or 7 yards. Unless that is their worst tackler, I don't see it.

4D chess by Monken. And that is why he is the highest paid offensive coordinator in college football.
