Harris threw downfield in the game. LSU also has an excellent jet sweep game and the offensive line can handle any DL in the SEC or country. Stop being afraid.

Exactly! On a side note did y'all see how badly Auburn's LBer were doing in their gap assignments? It's like they were completely confused about what they were supposed to do on every play!

Which is weird considering LSU runs pretty basic stuff. Reading keys against LSU shouldn't really be an issue. Yall think Muschamp is getting too complicated too early?

And they're going to beat Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.

You're saying all we have is a running game? I'm sorry, but we have an absolutely fantastic group of wide receivers, an actual dual threat qb who is making good reads and getting it done! A fantastic offensive line, great fullbacks as well! A great front 7 on d! We're fantastic on run defense! All I've come to see as a weakness this year so far is that we have a little trouble covering the passing game! But we'll have plenty of time to work on that for the big games in the late part of the season! If you truly think we're going to be "bad" you obviously haven't watched us! We're very balance..... I could argue that ole miss was very very lucky to beat Alabama and I wouldn't be lying... We'll see y'all near the end of the season just remember what you said

So you are answering his question with a 46 morph defense

My JV team could beat you then. The 46 is as antiquated to defense like the wishbone is to offense

Serious answer- Ole Miss showed they can penetrate and hit the back before he gets moving, vs Bama. if Nkimdiche can do that against us, that can slow Fournette's pace a lot.

I don't think that Ole Miss can do this all game long, they started to get pushed around by Bama as the game progressed. In order to succeed, I'd think they would need to get some separation on the scoreboard (like they did vs Bama), force us to pass to catch up. If it stays close, Fournette has a huge 4th quarter.

If it's reasonably close, I don't think Harris really has to pass a lot. Stacking the box against Fournette opens the edges up for Harris on the outside, and if he can move the chains with his feet, it works just as well. It will spread the defense out a little, and then comes the inside runs.

Bama didn't run a lot of power formations last night so their being able to penetrate the backfield is applicable but not in the same way it was against Bama

Put more people in the box than they can block and make Brandon Harris throw the ball.

I'll take cover 0 with nine men in the box all day and if Harris beats you then so be it.

Agree. I kept wondering why Bama wasn't trying to take advantage of what LSU did last year and that's the inside power running game.

Seriously. Fornette is damn good but yall treat him like a God. The run game can be stopped easily. That's going to be yalls downfall. Sure you can play a shite Auburn team and run it down there throats but what are you gaining from that? Just a bunch of shite talkers who think they will win the national chanpionship because they have a good running back. I'm mean holy shite almost every SEC team has a good running back. I will admit that fornette is probably going to win the heisman, and I have no problem with that. I just don't see how yall expect to do anything with this one dimensional team that yall have. What happens when fornette has a bad game or the defense is just stopping the run? And then you have to rely on your QB who has thrown nothing but screen passes? Yall are fricked when it comes down to playing bama and ole miss. Sorry to burst your big arse head but you need more than a running game.

Ole Miss fans have always been stupid when it comes to football, but you people are really taking it to another level. Just because your team beat Alabama does not mean that you personally know anything, as is evident by your post.

I did not crown LSU. I asked how you stop their running game. It is a football question. Get off of your freaking high horse and stop living vicariously through a bunch of people that you don't even know. Ole Miss beating Alabama does nothing to improve your personal worth.

If you don't know how to stop LSU's running game, just say so.

I kept wondering the same thing. We had some success with last year. I could see some play action working to a tee

Is Ole Miss defense better this year because LSU ran for 264 yds against them last year, Fournette had 113 yds on 22 carries.

To actually stop LSU you will have to run blitz every play. But it simply comes down to having D lineman that can take up 2 lineman and let the linebackers run free. I personally haven't seen a team in CFB that can do that consistently.

I think the biggest factor is having an elite front 7 with high quality depth in the front four. I don't know if any SEC team really has that combination this year, so the question becomes how do you slow it down to the point that it's manageable? I think teams have to come out and start hot offensively (similar to what 2012 Aggy would do) to try to force LSU to play out of its philosophy in order to catch up. It's going to be very interesting and telling to see how Florida schemes for it come October 17.

We have this guy name Jon Bullard.

He's pretty good. As are the people beside him and the Lb's behind him. That and tackling..seriously..Auburn players need to go back to middle school and learn basic tackling techniques. You don't have to stop the LSU game, probably not possible. But slow it down enough to force them out of rhythm. They will get yards, but if you can disrupt it in the backfield and force 2nd and 13's then you can force LSU to throw it.
