That's chump change. SEC network will be available on all carriers in the Southeast, and probably the entire country.

No way that can be true, as in them be the ONLY ones that get it... $186M is nothing for what this network will bring in..

does this mean no other provider will carry it?.... wow, if true.

I don't know. I would imagine they'll give other carriers a chance, but I'm not sure.

I don't know if 186M is for 20 years or maybe a year. I guess we'll see.

I'm thinking of switching from DirectTv to them anyways because I already have U-verse internet and plus when my wife and I bought our house, they charged me 149.00 to move my service from literally across the street. When we first got married I had been living in and renting my grandmother's house since she was no longer living there (moved her to some retirement apartments)and had comcast.

When we started looking for houses I went with DirectTv so we could move it to the new house easily and I had been told your first move was free. Well, when we found our house and was having the service moved, they informed me that my initial account opening as my first free move. I argued like crazy with them and talked to probably 5-6 people and they all told me 149.00. I told them that I thought that was pretty crappy as no one ever told me that when setting up my account and it was no where in my contract.

It will be picked up by all major carriers in time for next season. The demand is way too large for one of the providers to not pick it up.

Anyone know if SEC TV would have an app on Apple TV or X Box?

Uverse is awesome, in most areas. Odds are some of your neighbors have it, check with them and see how it works for them. I did the door to door thing for a while, and very, very rarely had any bad feedback from my customers. Every now and then there would be a block in a neighborhood where the service was shite, but AT&T damn near always got it straight pretty quick.

That would be great if they do, but I doubt it. If they do I would almost be certain they would do like ESPN and make you have a cable provider to access it. I have Apple Tv and the only ESPN channel I can get on there is ESPN3 because I have U-verse internet. To get the other channels I have to have a cable subscription to either U-verse, Comcast, or Charter. The only other way around it is to get someone to let you use their username and password if they have one of those in this area.

I was going to cancel Direct Tv and then get a digital antenna installed in my attic and then sign up for Hulu Plus and Netflix and use my parent's Charter info. But that got nixed pretty quick when my dad told me he thought that was cable theft. I could have kept my internet and done the Netflix and Hulu subscriptions and saved about 60.00/month.

U-Verse is awesome.
Have had it about a month and I really like it. Had DISH for years but they keep fighting with our locals over a few pennies and I got fed up with it. Pleased so far!

The future is PPV for all televised games.

Just think of what that will do for game attendance.

It won't. They want cable companies to pay out the arse for this, not go direct to the consumer like Netflix.

That was the whole point of expansion.

Jealous. My dad basically gave me one of those "I'm doing this for you own good so you don't get prosecuted" type speeches about how in his eyes he thought it was cable theft and not right.

Yes, I cut the proverbial "cable cord" a couple of years ago. My neighbor has Uverse and gave me his logon info. I've got HBO and ESPN using his stuff and subscribe to Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime on XBOX. With my subs and Uverse internet bill, I pay a grand total of about $65 a month for everything.
