All this Nutt business aside, what will Ole Miss look like this year?

Are they capable of upsetting someone's season?

Good on offense - probably shite defensively.

they were going to be the worst team in the SEC and that was BEFORE their coach got fired for calling hookers

Dead man walking.
Circling the drain.
Kicking the oxygen habit.

Pick your euphemism.

It's darn tough for players to get up for a game when they're waiting on the inevitable. Their play on the field will be irrelevant. Talk will revolve around transfer destinations, lawsuits, and OM College Gameday signage.

I doubt it. I think they're gonna suck arse all around.

They may upset South Alabama

It's interesting because they have a manageable November (UK, ULL, TAMU, MSU). So, whereas I'd expect them to have an upset early-on and then fade; if they can pull off 3 wins out of Cal, Bama, AU, Vandy, LSU, and Arky, they'd be 5-3 at the end of October with a ridiculous SOS. Of course they could also be 2-6.

How much of Ole Miss' offense was Hugh Freeze calling plays and such?

People have been saying that on here but aside from depth and maybe a question mark at LB (that is what the OM people on here say) I think their first 22 matches up with most folks on the schedule. I think they were looking at 7 or 8 wins. Now? I don't know. This is a kick in the nuts to 20 y/o kids. Not sure how they respond.

Freeze handed over the keys to the offense to the OC he hired last winter, including play-calling. The OC has been called plays in Spring.

Had Freeze still been there he would've probably meddled in the offense some.

Yup. If Ole Miss can beat Cal a winning season is definitely possible.

This season for OM will be just like our post-Petrino, John L Smith season.
