Those are his career stats. He is a young player and he is just now coming into his prime. I imagine most young players are more comfortable playing in their home stadium. His splits this year alone are not as drastic. Just saying.

So I'm a bit inconsistent.
It's also not an all-star team.
Sue me.
Make your own list.
I'm sure it will have like 8 LSU players on it and Aaron Nola will take Sonny Gray's spot in the rotation. ha

25/14=1.79 players per school

Ole Miss - 4

4/1.79 = tired of carrying the SEC in every sport

no one said he did. but he's not one of the best middle infielders in baseball either.

So is your list based on this year/right now or not?

D.J. LeMahieu is a very good player...but the effect of playing 81 games in Colorado is real. He's not the only one it impacts.

no, i'd just have lemahieu on it for sure. and if you're going to have that many relief pitchers, then yeah will harris would be on there. nola will get there eventually, but like i said, he's pitched in one game. no one else from lsu deserves to be on a list like this for their production this year

Will Harris is having a great season, but he's 30 years-old and RP's have volatile numbers from year to year due to how few innings they pitch.

Agreed. Harris' season is also an anomoly. His FIP is 3.36. Papelbon's is 2.99. I'll take Papelbon's K/BB ratio as well.

That many relief pitchers? That's the normal amount of pitchers an MLB team carries. Who would you replace with Harris?

Not Robertson. Not Wacha/Lynn. Get rid of one of the LHP's (Wood/Furbush?)

Fair enough on LeMahieu if you'd take him over Forsythe but you can't have both-----a realistic 25-man roster your backup INF has to have the ability to play Shortstop--which neither of them can thus why I have Cliff Pennington on there.

Considered but not used for various reasons:

Add Mike Bolsinger to the list. He is 5-3 with a 2.79 ERA with the Dodgers. Bolsinger

Forsythe has literally played every position in the infield.

Logan Forsythe is a better baseball player than D.J. LeMahieu. That's the bottom line.

But he went to Arkansas and not LSU. That's not possible

Agree. Forsythe is arguably the best player on the Rays right now. He probably should have been an all-star and he can play every position but catcher and pitcher. LeMahieu is good, but he definitely benefits from playing in that stadium.

I'm not 100%, but I do believe that LeMahieu signed with LSU as a SS and started there at the begining of the 2008 season until PM made adjustments to get hanover at 3rd in place of Hollander, Austin Nola at SS, and Lemahieu moved to 2nd. That move after tieing UGA then reeled off 23 straight victories. We didn't lose a game until the Supers.

He can play SS, but with his height at 2nd, you'd be stupid to move him.

LeMahieu may have played some SS when was 17-19 but a lot of people did. Hell Justin Upton was drafted #1 overall as a SS for example---you think he could play SS at the MLB level? LeMahieu can't play SS at the major league level. Obviously he physically could...but over the long run it would not go well.

Again I'm not hating on LeMahieu, I like him. Just sayin' he's getting a tad bit overrated here b/c this is an LSU board and his stats are elevated playing in Colorado.

Yeah, I would also go with Ian Kinsler at 2nd, but I guess that could be my Mizzou talking...

I didn't say he could play SS now, I'm saying you'd be stupid to move him around given the bonus of his height at 2nd base. He can stab a ball out of the air that would normally be a single over a 2nd baseman's head.
