It's a smart financial and political move. LSU keeps its current staff and recruiting class and the the world spins

I think he'll be fine. Regardless of who LSU got Saban would've beaten them, so I don't think Herman or certainly Fisher would've been any better.

So happy for Coach O. Not so happy for me. O is going to recruit like a demon and he will be a winner.

Bama / LSU going to turn into a real rivalry.

Congratulations Tigers on making the correct move.

PS: I live here in Houston. LSU made correct move NOT hiring Herman. I say what has he done? Really! Beat us in Sugar bowl as OC. So what. If that's the standard, then you should have hired Kiffin and how that would have been a cluster frick. Won at Houston playing in American conference? LOL. Herman to Tejas will be sweet poetic license. There will be love stanzas for 2 years then pow! Fire his arse.

We'll compete. I'm happy with the hire for a few reasons. Recruiting will actually get better, he'll let his coaches coach, he fricked up at O Piss and learned from it, and of course because he is a fellow Cajun. I see 10 wins for sure and possibly competing for nattys. Idc who doesn't agree, it's my opinion

Might overachieve with 10 wins the first year or two, but 8-9 wins a year will be the longer run norm and will follow the law of decreasing marginal returns, so to speak. I give him 4 or 5 years. He will recruit well, win most games they should, but will lose some head scratchers and will never have a scheme to beat Saban.

Seems like he could be a decent 8 to 10 win coach

8 wins is not decent

He'll hover around 9 wins every year

With a top-notch staff Coach O may do well. Kiffen and Arranda are both excellent. Atanda might leave for Texas though or soon for HC gig. Kiffen might not come if he waits to see if he gets a good HC offer or he could leave LSU soon for a HC gig.

Anyone saying he could win 9 or 10 games his first year needs to look at LSU's schedule next year.

i think he will be fine

they need a fricking QB, zero excuses for a blue blood not to have a competent QB.

I dont know about their OC, but if they get a QB, and their OC is creative, they will be a 10-11 win team again.

It's all about the Coords.

Sincerely,
Missouri 2016

we need to see the final staff and the first year's recruiting.

I don't know why he can't compete.

I could see him pulling a 9 win season out of his arse and then a handful of 7-8 wins before he fricks it all up with a trip to the titty bar.

At the very least, LSU's new AD in a couple of years will likely have plenty of ammo to cut him loose.

If he can get a really good OC and either keep Aranda or get another DC he will be alot better than people think. He learned alot at Ole Miss and I think he will prove himself at LSU that they made a good hire.

Well since most of the fan base doesn't want him He starts out on the hot seat, so after every loss (and I'm sure there will be plenty) there will be people calling for his job. It will be exactly like Charlie strong at UT.

About as good as Fat Bert 6-8 wins

Not true. Orgeron had 5 wins with cancelled game after taking over in week 5.

More SEC wins in his first half year at LSU than Bert in his first two years at Arkansas.

Our ability to scheme is overshadowed by our schizophrenic team identity.
