Alabama’s Director of Football Operations Justin Dickens is leaving the program, according to AL.com, citing sources.

Dickens has served under Nick Saban since the 2015 season. He previously served as the Director of Football Operations at Michigan for the 2014 season. Prior to landing the job at Michigan, Dickens spent seven seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, and he worked his way up to Manager of Publicity (2006-10).

Dickens previously earned his master’s degree in education while working as a graduate assistant at Georgia. He earned a bachelor of science degree in public relations from Austin Peay State University in 2003.

Dickens just adds to the turnover at Alabama, a program that has seen two offensive coordinators leave (Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian), an offensive line/tight ends coach (Mario Cristobal) and its wide receivers coach (Billy Napier).

Saban is right in the middle of finding a new offensive coordinator currently, and he can afford to take his time and make the right hire because there isn’t a time crunch.

Dickens was in charge of the day-to-day management of the program as the Director of Football Operations. Team travel and budgeting manager are two other tasks usually associated with this position. Although it’s not an on-the-field coaching role, Dickens had a big responsibility at Alabama.
