why are you trying so hard? of all the playoff teams, bama has played by far the toughest schedule by every metric, unless you are a dumbass who thinks playing 11 vocational schools and 1 good team is a better schedule than playing 7-8 tough teams who all happened to have beat up on each other in the regular season

Thank you for posting that...Bama has beat 3 Top Ten teams when we played them...It's not our fault they come unglued after getting run out of the stadium by Bama.

Which is why computer formula's for things like this are completely ridiculous.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

quote:

Let's say you have six games and Teams A plays 3 top 15 teams and then three bottom 80ish teams and Team B plays 1 top 15 team 4 top 50 teams and 1 bottom 80 team.

The averages probably work out in favor of Team B but Team A's path to winning all those games is much more challenging.

Not at all. Those six teams Team A played, under your scenario, could be 11, 14, 15, 76, 78, and 80, while Team B played 2, 16, 18, 19, 20, and 75. Team B has the stronger schedule. Team B is playing more games where there is a reasonable chance they could be upset. They are playing more games against teams that are physically stronger and take a greater physical toll on players.

Those teams were all ranked because they all back loaded their schedule because of what happened last year. It's easy to be highly ranked when your first 8 or 9 games are the little sisters of the poor. The big 12 is the most pretend conference ever. Big 10 did something similar. Easy to be highly ranked Ohio state when you play your first ranked team November 21st.

So by that logic, now that we've seen how the polls have played out the only ranked opponent you played was in September (fair enough).. But you lost that game. You did not play another ranked team the rest of the season! I guess it's easy to be highly ranked Bama when you play a bunch of pretenders (yes, that includes mighty LSU)

And I agree about Florida, but they are 10-2. Their defense is why they are ranked as high as they are.

Being the team that got the breaks in the east is why they are where they are. Worst division in college football.

Shall we look at OU's?

Tennersee #23
W Va #23
Baylor #6
TCU #18
Ok State #11

And a loss to unranked Texas. Do we want to talk about laughable?

Hey, at least they beat a team that's ranked. Make that three teams that are ranked.

So are you saying Bama isn't deserving of their ranking because they haven't beaten any current top ranked teams? What exactly are you trying to prove?

Alabama has 2 ranked wins (as of the Nov 29 AP Poll). #23 LSU and #25 Wisconsin.

Oklahoma has 3 ranked wins. #11 TCU, #12 Baylor, #14 Oklahoma State.

It's quite amusing when you can post all of that, and you are too ignorant to believe Alabama actually lost a game without beating themselves

Did I say that? Alabama got unlucky, but we also got outplayed the majority of the game against Ole Miss.
