Well, when you're averaging 10.5 non-offensive points per game, your time of possession will definitely take a hit.

The best part of Minkah's pick six was watching Eddie Jackson immediately scan the field and wave Minkah to take off - from 6 yards deep in the endzone.

No kneeling for a touchback; the other defenders were immediately scanning the the field and lining up to make blocks on the return and to lead the way for a TD.

And Eddie led him almost every step of the way, shielding off one would be tackler, before taking out the QB.

You can tell they spend a lot of time on it. Watch the Williams fumble return. There's no wasted motion from the defense. They transition from defender to blocker in the blink of an eye, as a complete unit.

I believe it was #94, Payne, who had a nice block on the scoop and score.

Auburn had a crazy amount back in 1994. They had the infamous Jamie Howard 4 TD game and another game where I think they scored three.

At the time, my friend was playing LB at another (bad) college and he told me his D-coord came into a meeting with a newspaper article about Auburn's opportunistic defense and said, "boys, this is how you play defense! I expect you to score two TDs every game!" They all just started laughing and said their offense can't even score two TDs.

Another amazing thing, in this era where the penalty is so prevalent, is no blocks in the back.

I was at that game. Freshman year of college and it was the loudest I'd ever seen JHS.

Very opportunistic defense for AU that year.

Tennessee has a horrible ball security problem. They have been fumbling like crazy all year, they were catching breaks and recovering most of them until the A&M game when their luck finally ran out.

yes, this won't last. Bama offense is good... not great.

This is why Tenn, A&M, Auburn all have a good shot to beat Bama.

Hell... even LSU could pull a rabbits foot out of it's arse and keep it within 3 scores.... anything is possible.

Yeah because LSU's defense is its achilles heel.
