That's an interesting time frame to go back to. Any particular reason that exact amount was chosen?

That one vs LSU shouldn't have been allowed with the three uncalled holds.

because going back a second earlier would make the stat worthless.

It's the current stretch of not giving up a TD. How about your team? What's the longest stretch they've gone without giving up a TD? A quarter and a half?

yea, that is ugly. Just look at the recruiting. Thats the biggest reason for this. Bama is playing great and a big portion of that is because they have the best players at each position. I dont put a lot of stock in Sabans game day coaching but he is a program builder and recruiter.

Good game day coach but still makes tons of mistakes. But he basically fields a unbeatable team with talent

Bama also move up to number one in scoring defense yesterday. Turns out that not giving up a td in November, helps in that stat too. Number 1 in total defense now, also.

Stats:
Auburn has outscored its last 2 opponents 67 to 30, including a game against Alabama.

I can see this. But I also think he gameplans with the best of them. When you have dozens of people (and some over-qualified for the position) scouting (and self-scouting) each game, it puts you ahead of the game.

Absolutely. No doubt about that. He is fielding the best team every week. Talking about players and coaches. Im not downing him. It is what his job is. But as far as a game day coach, he benefits from that talent and has to do less than most coaches.

It may appear that way to the causal observer, but he, Kiffin, and Pruitt do a lot to get favorable matchups that even a lot of Bama fans don't understand. Lots of fans hate the speed game on the edges with bubble screens and jet sweeps. What they don't see is how making LBs and DBs move to chase the guys in motion, it sets up the big plays later in the game. What they don't see is how that fatigues a defense. That's how you end up with the ball on your own 5 yard line with 9:00 left, and the other team never gets the ball back. Just having the best talent isn't enough. Is Jalen Hurts the most talented QB? Hell no. But he's the probably the best coached. Even with 9:00 left, to be able to milk every second from the play clock is a skill that's learned.
