I have been on the waiting list since 2008. I emailed the ticket office a couple of weeks ago to make sure all my info was up to date.
My wifes grandfather has 8 seats in section J and has had them for like 50 years.
He can buy Sugar Bowl tickets before they come out and he has so many points built up he can get up to 26 tickets.

I don't even want to know where that old bastard gets to park.

These links should give you the info you are looking for. The "donation amount" is the fee Tide Pride members give the University each year per seat. Better seats=higher donation but you are able to rack up Tide Pride points a bit faster. For each $100 donation you get 1 Tide Pride point. It took 500 points to be able to order BCS tickets which translates to $50,000 in contributions over the years. There's a long waiting list to be a Tide Pride member and you can either give a sizable donation or add your name to the list and wait.
There's one way around this waiting list if you're looking to buy post season football tickets. You can become a Tide Pride member of other sports (baseball, basketball, etc) and rack up Tide Pride points thus enabling those with enough points the ability to purchase SEC, BCS, or other bowl games without actually being able to purchase football season tickets.

I took the easy route...I just got a job here and now I receive F&S tickets.

They should take 80% of the upper deck away from students. They should also keep the walk way clear in the student section...2 of my pet peeves at BDS.

They shouldn't have upper deck seating for the students at all. They won't sit there, and the empty spot is glaring, especially for those who'd love to be able to sit there.

Fork out about 2000-4000 bucks in donations and you will get them approved real quick.

Pretty positive you have to be a football season ticket holder to get post-season and away tickets for football, no matter how many points you have accumulated in other ways.
You can now donate to the Crimson Tide Foundation and get 3 points for every $100. Building up points without the ability to buy tickets benefits you by giving you a higher tide totals amount when you actually get to buy season tickets, thus jumping ahead of others in the line to buy post-season/away game tickets. But if you want to get ahead on the waiting list to buy season tickets, be prepared to fork over a nice chunk of change in one lump sum. Money talks.
Good Luck!

Yeah I guess you're right (wasn't positive about that) but while one is waiting to get football season tickets they can pile up Tide Pride points so when they finally do get season tickets 20 years from now they may actually be able to buy bowl game tickets as well instead of starting off at zero points and having to wait until they're near death to get them.

Cheaper to buy them online for the ones you want to go to unless you go to every game.

Not close. If you add another zero you are in the ballpark. I have a buddy that bypassed the waiting list by doing this prior to the 2011 season.

Welcome to the waiting list game. I have been on it for 5 years. Although, like with anything I am sure money talks if you wanted to give a large donation you might be able to jump people in line.

I have a friend that he and his dad donate money every year and have donated well over the 2000-4000 range. I think the university does give them a few season tickets every year but not sure how many games or seats and their still on the Tide Pride waiting list.

There was a waiting list before he was hired and the stadium expansion was already in the works.
