I see several gumps here now convinced that Karen will be better the Nick Saban. I like where this is going.

I heard there's this new website who must not be named, where the juvenile shite talk has ceased to exist thus far.

Where actual sports discussions take place and by George, where it's as nice as a Summer breeze.

Congrats on the stupidest thread of the day, and that is saying something.

And?

Saban kept Golding on staff for 4-5 seasons even though he was clearly not up to par.

Saban went and hired Tommy Rees and he clearly wasn't a good OC.

Kelly clearly is smart enough to recognize his mistakes and to pivot.

"Great" under Kelly = 7 losses in two seasons (5 of them embarrassing blowouts) even with a Heisman trophy winner.

I'm torn on this topic.

On one hand, it's February, long way to go in recruiting, especially for a new staff.

On the other, a few of the hypocritical Bammers in this very thread have been quick to blast Tennessee/Auburn/LSU recruiting when it's way too early also.

The only program more successful than LSU since 2007 is Nick Saban’s Alabama, and Nick is mostly gone. Not only are we thrilled, we’re enjoying the gump cope and impending melt.

While I have my doubts about Deboer being able to recruit well enough at Bama, looking at recruiting in February is just dumb (unless you're looking at the prior year's recruiting).

Remember when Florida was recruiting well last year? Didn't really work out, did it?

The LSU coaches that had success for LSU during that time are gone too.

While Alabama will clearly finish better than where it is, there will be a decent drop-off from what fans are used to. There is no doubt about that.

3 coaches versus one. Les Miles and Orgeron are hardly Nick Saban, and they won at LSU. Kelly has done well with what he had to work with. LSU fans have every reason to believe we’re in better shape than Bama right now. The next few years are going to be a lot of fun.

Not sure why the number matters.

The reality is Bama has had success with a ton of coaches. While Saban is the goat, Gene Stallings, Bear Bryant, Frank Thomas and Wallace Wade all won national titles at Bama and Bill Curry and even Mike Dubose won conference titles.

It takes a Mike Shula level of hire to really suck at Bama and even he had a top 10 season. While I don't think Deboer will live up to Saban, he's way better than Shula.
