Exactly how much money has this guy generated from his name, image or likeness to pull in this kind of coin?

I do think you will see teams with certain built in NIL advantages that haven’t been very good becoming much more competitive than they were. Will the playing field even out? No, but I think some new teams will be asked to the dance

I’d love to see an “in game transfer.”
Guy gets more from our team or the other team and walks across the field and puts on another jersey.
I also would not object to a good QB playing for both teams during the whole game. This happens in backyards and parks all over America.

There is a very good chance that in a few months he'll be the most popular athlete in a state of 5 million people. Not to mention Bama being the most watched team in the sport year in and year out

The NIL is big for some of the elite players but the larger picture is which program can get me to the NFL. The school itself is secondary with the football program primary.

I mean I understand where you're coming from, but may I add it's a big difference in playing in primetime matchups, SEC championships and playoffs games, also most of your games are featured.... Versus 11am and noon games, so if a kid can't perform at his school to get NIL endorsements he going somewhere else more likely to a lower profile school to get endorsements?

If memory serves, 5* WR Rakim Jarrett chose Maryland over LSU, Bama, Clemson, Ohio State and everybody else because they sold him on being the face of the program knowing the NIL ruling was coming.

Mac Jones literally blows your theory to hell. Mac Jones transfers anywhere he could have transferred to, and there's no way in hell he makes first round draft money just in endorsements.

We will see if he ends up being a Day 2 draftee from Maryland.

I don't know where you have seen that concept but guys on smaller schools message boards are concerned this may be the death nail for them all the teams like them.

Obviously, Young had an agent help him through the negotiating process.Which is legal as long as the agent is only involved in the player's NIL process. Does anyone honestly believe that this agent will now disappear? The door has been opened for agents to be hired by players & that is a door leading to a big black hole.

Well if you still want to hold to the notion that College Football is "Amateur" it is not. Even in form it was prior to NIL, in substance we all know deep down that has not been true pretty much since the BCS era, then playoff, with the increase in TV Revenue.
I was listening to Coach Stoops of UK on SEC Radio Network with Cole Cubelic and Chris Doering and he stated and this is close to a direct quote, "the Transfer portal is Free Agency" and I don't know how Cole and Dooring reacted they must of grimaced and he doubled down.
So you combine Transfer Portal with NIL and you are now dealing with Semi Pro Sports that are attached to a University.

It will be, now with NIL, those smaller school players are not going to have the market value a big time player at an SEC, ACC, BIG 10, etc. that is the reality.
The notion that schools like ULL, LA Tech, ULM in Louisiana should have a say on what LSU does, or the SEC is no longer tenable. It really made no sense even before NIL. You throw in the Transfer Portal and you know have basically semi-Pro Sports in leagues like the SEC, Big10, ACC, Big12, Notre Dame, etc.
I can see the P5 forming their own league and the rest of football being in different leagues. The NCAA is neutered, it is now a market base model and programs that can generate millions of revenues will form their own league. Teams in the Group of 5 that say well what about us? Well if your programs can generate Revenues from TV, NIL, etc similar to us, your in. So nobody is being restricted, but as long as the market is free, it is going to separate programs in different leagues, current P5 vs. Non P5, etc.

College Football hasn't been amateur since the SMU days.
