quote:You can say that like it's supposed to be a dig at bama, but they are the number 2 team in the country in one poll and a top 5 team in the other at the end of the season. That basically blows any negative insinuation you are trying to make out of the water. Utah would have destroyed LSU. Try being a little more intellectually honest with your posts rather than spewing out a bunch of things that don't really mean anything and acting as if they do. You just come off looking stupid and petty.

How does it feel knowing that you will never live long enough to see LSU take the overall series lead from Alabama?

Did yall claim a national championship for this accomplishment? You really should, if you haven't already.

That's an opinion not a fact. On any given day the outcome of a game may be quite surprising.

Discuss.
LSU had a bad season.
We've had about 7 of them in the last 10 years.

Wait, I thought that Georgia Tech and their unstoppable offense was going to destroy LSU.
Given enough time to prepare for a game of such magnitude LSU and Miles have proven to be very competant in devising game plans and executing it brilliantly. As painful as it may be for some of you Bama boys to admit, LSU, while they may have lacked consistency, a reliable QB, and a pourous D this year, is still much more loaded with talent than most everyone besides UF in the SEC, and given time to prepare LSU is 4-0 in post season under Les Miles with a combined score of 157-44. Dominant performances.

quote:I understand your point, but I never thought that FWIW. Besides Utah >> Georgia Tech. Your secondary was pretty bad this year and Utah's QB is outstanding. He would have lit it up. LSU was second to last in scoring defense and dead last in passing defense. If LSU beat Utah, it would be considered an upset.

Here's to the end of the season! Great season Bammers. Enjoy the good, accept the bad finish. Now on to recruiting, spring practice, spring scrimmage and the promises of "next year!"

Hypothetical and irrelevant.

Do you think LSU's talent is second to Utah's?
Hardly, and I'm not trying to come up with excuses for LSU's struggles this year because there really aren't any, we had massive failure on D because of coordinator meltdowns and a real mess at QB throwing interception after interception after interception which transfered to the defensive side of the ball IMO as well, but LSU didn't have any breaks this year due to Gustav either. So, when LSU did have a break to prepare for the game against the mighty Georgia Tech and their potent offensive attack you saw what LSU was capable of doing, holding that same offense to a field goal and that's it the entire game. We also got tremendous work out of a very talented yet very young and inexperienced QB who had time to prepare and work around his abilities which resulted in success offensively, and so the D took heart in that fact as well and produced.

The message: better to win a shitty bowl game than to get to a big one (BCS) and lose and suffer dissapointment. That's pathetic.
So with LSU being mentioned as preseason #4 next yr, but Bama isnt?
You dont think how each finished had something to to with that?

I don't see how there's much to discuss. For the first time in a long time, Alabama had a better season than LSU's. Period.
LSU is not in a downward spiral and Alabama is not going to "return to normal" next year. We'll both be back competing next year. nuff said

I seen where Lee Corso mentioned LSU at #4 next year. Did someone else mention that as well?
We'll be in the pre-season top 10 next year IMO with all of the young talent we have coming back.

Bama: 5-10
LSU: 10-15
