I know all the TMZ Sports-types on here want to make more out of it than it was, but it looked like normal HC/OC interaction to me.

It's hard to gauge the normalcy of it because we typically see the OC in the box. All of the interaction is unseen by camera.

I don't think Kiffin will have any problems wih Saban. He realizes this is his chance to rehabilitate his image. They have a mutual admiration/respect thing going. Anything being made of anything to the contrary is just wishful thinking.

He knew Blake was having trouble quite a bit with calls. He mentioned how having Kiffin down on the field to manage was huge. I think he is just really paying attention to how both QBs interact with Kiffin during the first 3 weeks or so. He was about to yank Blake before making a great 3rd down conversion.

"I think if he wasn't on the sidelines, we would have had a lot more issues, maybe more issues than we could overcome to be successful in the game," Saban said at his Monday press conference. "We did a really good job of managing (quarterback Blake Sims) and helped him manage the game as much as you could ever do it. I don't think anybody could have done that had he been in the press box."

"It wasn't just like, 'OK, let's go do it this way,'" Saban said. "Lane did a really good job, the whole offensive staff did a good job of getting the information but I think from a game management standpoint, it really went well."

, Kiffin requested to coach from the field. So he'll have to deal wih the boss man.

Wrong. Kiffin wanted the pressbox and Saban told him to be on the sideline.
