Alabama just two wins shy of 900 all-time victories

Alabama's "official" win total is 869, but when you take back the 8 games that were forfeited in 1993 and the 21 wins that were vacated between 2005-07, you see a program that is just two wins shy of becoming the second college football program to reach the 900-win club (Michigan, of course, being the first and only).

For comparison's sake, Tennessee has 825 all-time victories and LSU has 771.

So you're 31 wins short of 900

Only 1 "win" shy of the 30 vacated club!

Stereotypes and jokes do exist for a reason!

And if you take away all the other teams that won national championships, Alabama is the only team to win a national championship.

You could take away all the other SEC teams NC's and Bama still has more than most.

But the consequences are arbitrary. Antonio Langham signed a napkin in the celebratory aftermath of the national title game vs Miami, and it was decided UA should forfeit games. Around the same timeframe, Auburn's coaches provided money and incentives to players and they were denied tv games for a year, in a time when each team might get 3 tv games per year. That's just for an example. Another example is Barry Swtizer cheated his arse off at OU, and they never had to forfeit a game.

As noted, the sanctions were and are just arbitrary.

By the way, UGA has been busted more than Alabama.

Drunkenly signed a contract with an agent on a napkin on bourbon st after winning the national title, then lied about it.

Wasn't this the self reported text book scandal?

I'm definitely not going to claim we've never cheated. But these were some bullshite reasons to vacate wins.
