So 3.86 vs 5.25? Outstanding thread Dick Tracy.
And as evidenced by last night one more flag means a lot.

Team average for the 2012 season was 3.86 penalties per game. I can't find the 2013 stats, but my assumption is that they are similar. LINK
In the 2012 and 2013 games without SEC officials, they are as follows:
vs. Michigan - 7
vs. Notre Dame - 4
vs. Virginia Tech - 4
vs. Oklahoma - 6
statistically significant

Does it matter? 90% of the good recruits in your state go to Alabama anyway. And as far as the penalties.....that's a maximum of 7. I don't see how any of this is bad except for Michigan. Everyone is just trying to flame Bama since they lost. Well mostly LSU fans because they can't get it done on the field against Bama and have to live vicariously through Little Brother's Miracle run.

~27% difference... not insignificant

After Bama ran for 350 and not one holding call vs UGA in the 2012 game I finally seen what others complain about. Barrett Jones would molest people and no calls. Last nights game was fairly called.

So in half the games you listed, Bama was basically at their penalty average despite no SEC officials?

Yes. The ACC guys did a great job.
