That is actually a decent amount of times in 8 years for a rotating opponent. I guess it just "worked out that way."

2 opponents out of 5 prior to the 2012 expansion.

Reset in 2012, 1 opponent out of 6 since.

This is not some astronomically rare occurrence. Geez, turn in the tin foil hat.

Memphis about to continue that streak.

Obviously you can't rid of permanent cross-conference opponents due to the Auburn/UGA and Bama/Tennessee rivalries

Why not?

If unbalanced schedules are necessary, then Auburn, Georgia, Bama and Tennessee should be disadvantaged by it, not Florida and LSU.

I see we are still going off the premise that Florida is a juggernaught, therefore it is utterly unfair that LSU should have to play such a feisty creature yearly.

The flip side is that we've played Vandy once in that time frame. 9 years, not 8.

Yeh, I am honestly not making this a schedule thread. More of a comment on how fricked up the SEC scheduling is in general.

Over the last 10 years, Florida has only won 67% more SEC games than Tennessee.

We've played Florida 8 times since 2005 (11 years). We are 6-2 against them.

I didnt mean for my post to be an unfair scheduling post, more of the SEC scheduling in general is shite. I mean one of your posters pointed out you have only played Vandy once in 9 years? Thats nuts, that means yall have had 4 year graduates not play an SEC team

Mizzou has been in the league for 5 seasons and we are just playing them for the first time

LSU plays Florida every year and does quite well.

Why is Alabama hiding behind a rivalry with Tennessee? Bless your heart.

The year of expansion was the year we were supposed to go back to Nashville. We had to go to Missouri instead.

Everything is Missouri's fault.

George's hammer fell all the way back to when Kentucky was a common opponent to balance out Curley vs Spurrier.

What do you guys think about:

EAST- Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Vanderbilt.

WEST- LSU, Ole Miss, Miss St, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas A&M.

No common opponents. Balanced schedules for each division. Everyone gets their beloved rivalries. I don't see any negatives.

Essentially Bama gets to sit back and watch a bunch of teams knock each other out while they get to work on their offense.

Pretty awesome scheduling deal right there.

REC doin' work, Birmingham too close, head of schedules a Bama grad, need FBI investigation, etc.

Winners of 20 of the 24 SECCG, of course you want that set up for LSU.
