In 2006 and 2007, D.J. Hall went over 1,000 yards receiving. Had he not been such a head case he would have been a pretty good receiver in the NFL. He had the hands, the size, and the speed for it. His only problem was he had a real problem with authority and discipline.

Of course Julio Jones was our premiere WR from 2008-2010.

Alabama didn't really have a home run receiving threat in 2011, but 2012-2014 saw the reign of Amari Cooper.

And now in the aftermath of the 2015 season, Calvin Ridley looks to be the next best thing at the position for Alabama football.

While Alabama has been known as a smash mouth running team since Saban's arrival in '07, it has produced some really talented receivers.

Maze was pretty good in 2011, and finished with just under 1400 all purpose yards. Also finished first in punt returns and third in receptions in the SEC in 2011.

What happened to Maze in the NFL? Just didn't cut it?

Yeah, signed as a FA with the Steelers but never made it out of training camp.

AJ threw the ball to mediocre receivers in 2011.
