re: Alabama fans, is there any real chance that Hurts loses his position during this season?

He was a true freshman that hit a wall against 3 elite pass defenses. And, as much as I love Kiffin, he failed Hurts against UF and Washington. By the Clemson game he was broken.

It was games 13, 14 and 15 man, I mean...I realize he was still young, but the fact is he just looked limited in his ability. He looked like a "true freshman" against FSU too. Didn't see any improvement.

LSU also ended up benching their starting QB midway through the season........

Disagree 100%. His accuracy looked much better and his decision making as well. He missed some reads, but he managed the game much better than the prior year and made a some difficult throws (one that was called back and one that was dropped) against a secondary full of dudes who will be 1st round picks (while running for his life most dropbacks). He wasn't perfect, but he was definitely better.

I thought he looked limited in what we allowed him to do. And, like I said, the UF and Washington games were abysmally poorly called games by Kiffin.

Again, we'll see it how plays out. It may turn out that his ceiling is JT Barrett. We won't know for a few months.

He is lucky we only have freshmen behind him. We almost won it all last year with a freshman that is a below average passer. We might would do even better behind another true freshman that is an above average passer.

Don't think he will ever be accurate. Can't teach that

Bama always looks human and error prone at the start of the season, but come late October to early November they get their stuff together and become virtually unstoppable.

If LSU could play them in the first 4 weeks of the season, we wouldn't be L6U

Not in every instance for sure. He really didn't make many bad throws.

You do tend to cut down a LOT on bad throws when you offense is hinged on not making mistakes and throwing it away if everything breaks down. It's served us well since McElroy.

Is Tagovailoa going to be willing to ride the bench for three more years until Hurts' available runs out?

He might be counting on Jalen having 2 years to develop and leave by his junior year.

Analysis of Hurts performance actually shows he did fairly well. His completion percentage wasn't great, but he had three throw aways and a few drops, plus one called back on a penalty. He was more accurate than he is getting credit for.

Jalen is being unfairly criticized for the Florida State game. When given time he hit his receivers. Bama quit throwing in the fourth quarter with good reason. This is a new OC and will take time to gel. Bama was not going to go in and throw the ball all over the place against one of th best secondaries in CFB. Bama failed to simply pick up blitzes when all FSU did was walk Derwin James up to the LOS. There were no hot routes or for that matter we seem to still forget we have TE. Jalen needs to improve but he didn't turn the ball over and he never threw a bad pass into coverage either. He will get better. The offense will gel and by midway through the season I expect to see a more than adequate offense to complement a great defense.

Yes there is. Don't believe it?
Let him come out and start throwing
Numerous Interceptions, fumbling the ball away every week. Anything can happen
