I'm just not seeing any Darron Paynes,Quinnien Williams,Marcel Darrius or Johthan Allen on this defense. Tim Smith and Jahiem Oatis are very good players but I don't see any dominant interior players and the depth is definitely not what it use to be.

I think this is an accurate assessment based on the data points we know. The big questions are what do we see different in 2023. Will someone take a step forward? Will depth emerge among younger players we do not have much knowledge of at the moment? Will a slight tweak to the scheme under a new coordinator allow players to flourish who faltered under the old DC’s coaching and play calling?

Yes there are an alot of unknowns but, that's the point Alabama usually doesn't have those. We will see come November.

All this is speculation though, not what I'm use to seeing out of Alabama. I remember when a young Darron Payne was flashing in 2015-17 with that group Alabama had, I remember Quinnien did the same when Payne was the upper classmen. I just don't see that on tape last year from AL. Good players not dominant

Psychiatrists could write complete volumes on the inferiority complex of the LSU fan. It’s an amazing, yet sad and pathetic disorder. The main symptoms cause them to be able to do nothing but obsess about and post on anonymous message boards about Alabama and Texas A&M

Sad.

Phil Steele has the Bama D-line ranked 3rd in the SEC behind Georgia and aTm. He has them ahead of LSU. I don't profess to know D-lines throughout the SEC, but I do feel like Bama's interior will be improved... to include the middle LB position where To'o To'o was woefully undersized against the run.

Lsu dline is vastly more talented than Bama's, how many all Americans does bama have, none that's how many. Lsu has Wingo and Smith All Americans and Guillory and Sav'ion Jones who is an upgrade from Ali Gaye not to mention 3-4 transfers with experience. Were in top 10 in the nation at dline bama ain't top 20.
