Coach Sumlin has lost all control of the Bama program!!!

Isn't that like 5 or 6 transfers this Summer?

From what I've read, Sheffield was the presumed starter - then Averett came in and took it away from him. Kid is ungodly fast (4.3 speed) and the talk is that Sheffield's father didn't like the fact that he was being passed on the depth chart by incoming freshmen.

Not sure on the accuracy, just what I saw.

Right, one "supposedly" bad practice and the guy is running off like a little bitch? I'm calling bull shite on that.

Call it what you want but he is gone because he got passed. PERIOD.

The fact is that everyone on this board (besides Alabama fans) think that this means that there is something wrong at Alabama. Not because there actually is a problem, but because they hope there is a problem that could bring Alabama down.

Can he though? What has he done to prove this? One on the more overrated coaches in the nation

Well, he's been a DC at two schools over 3 seasons. During that time, he's not had a defense worse than 9th in scoring and 8th in yards per game - and that was last year at UGA which was an improvement from 2014 when UGA was 25th yards and 18th in scoring defense.

At FSU, he inherited a defense that was top-3 in the nation and kept it there over two seasons.

He's certainly no Kevin Steele, but overall I'd say he's done alright.

And he's not coaching the secondary at Alabama. He's coaching linebackers this time around. The secondary coach is Derrick Ansley.

That's 2 starting DBs and some depth gone. How many more OOS players are jumping ship?

No he wasn't at all, AA, Sheff, and Mayden all got first team reps at scrimmage. Based on that showing he is leaving. Figure it out dude.

He is leaving after 1 scrimmage when just before that he was looking good?

This is so idiotic. He's a redshirt freshman. He's not going to bail after a bad scrimmage. /r/cfb had a guy that mentioned that he may have some family issues.

He is highly recruited, told by his FATHER mainly he is the best. He didn't show that. AA or Mayden was likely going to start over him. If Mayden he is totally screwed for his Bama career. Think about it. It's not his first scrimmage btw. Just stop. I know you want it to be our starter but he isn't. Bottom Line.

Let's chalk it up to I know more than you and move on. He was losing his spot to better players, writing on wall etc.

He was your starter by your own fanbases admission, it's not like anyone is making this up. Last week - nickeback starter and looking good, this week he's 6th on the depth chart

You're full of shite man, and it's showing pretty bad

He's just saying it's asinine to think this kid bailed because of a bad look in a scrimmage as a redshirt freshman.

he was never the starter lol that's the best part I know. He was sharing 1 team reps with two other players. This is also what happened at the scrimmage. Move on.

Edit: let me add one thing. When the 1st team trotted out at the scrimmage he wasn't the starting corner BTW it was AA. He came in later for his share of reps.

I know what he is saying, but it's a build up with that being the final push it's not rocket science.

Maybe here on the SEC Rant where we know everyone has a direct line to their team's head coach. If you read reports by the Bama beat reporters who get a limited view of practice, all that was ever said was that he was getting reps with the 1's (along with Averitt and Mayden) and making a good showing
