Pretty small and cheap addition.

It's a 34,000 square foot weight room. Which, if I am not mistaken, is the largest in the country

Would you like me to add up the square footage of the Mal Moore Athletic Facility, Hank Crisp Indoor Facility, and this new addition?

Actually it just vaults Alabama right back to the top and dwarfs Tennessee's new facility.

Actually it does not. The article says it will be used by all Alabama athletes. Plus it says that includes a rehab area.

Tennessee's new weight room is 25-27K plus an additional 10K for the Training room. That is all mostly football, plus some track and tennis.

They gave their old 25K weight room and 6K training room to the the Lady Vols for sole purpose of the womens sports.

With that said, both are going to be unreal.

Not according to the link. Square footage will be divided into

quote:

a check-in desk, weight room, cardio/rehab area, strength coaches' offices, graduate assistant workrooms, nutrition bar, juice room, restrooms, medical office suite, elevator, janitor's closet and storage.

It is okay. Probably the second nicest in the league.

And yet, all for nothing...

I realize what is being added and what already exists, and will remain. So run along and jerk off to those WRs once again.

No, it's the nicest. It has actual trophies added in the last decade.

Trophies or not it is a cheap addition, like an add on garage.

The project is expected to cost just short of $9.1 million and will be primarily funded from future revenue bonds. The Crimson Tide Foundation is providing $965,317.

Don't have enough financial support, eh?

Every project is done this way. I think you know Alabama has plenty of financial support, referenced in total revenue being near the top in the country each year. Of course, this will likely now devolve into an argument about funding (and how LSU does it better).

Is the Foundation paying back the bonds?

Ok girls, stop fighting over who's clit is bigger.

It's a 34,000 sq ft weight room. It's epicness is far too great to wage such a lame argument about. Just say it.

34,000 square foot state of the art workout facility

Say it out loud...

Say it again.....

Say it one more time....

Now try to convince the guy in the chicfila line next to you that you aren't crazy.

So we should tear down a 7 year old facility to appease the masses that think add-ons are tacky? I guess we should nix the next project for the amphitheater.

Add ons are fine, we just completed a $50M add on. This one though?

That's my understanding. This was the method used on both endzone expansions and the Walk of Champions work.

What exactly are you trying to argue here? That UT is somehow richer? I think we know the answer to this. Alabama is doing this in phases because of space issues. The weight room, amphitheater, and new administration building will all happen over the next two years.
