With regards to Dunn, all I know is that LSU fans get really nervous whenever the bama HC position comes up. Not saying there is smoke out there necessarily but it's a fact our fans are very aware of that connection. We'll lose Coach Dunn eventually but hopefully not to bama, now or later.

I said from the start that the Tulane coach or any head coach right now outside of Alabama would be an idiot for taking this job.
One reason and one reason only, you play with 11.7 schollies at Bama, period. You dont have a lottery. Bama will have to look at an assistant at an Alabama or MS school or maybe the coach at South Alabama. Nobody in their right mind will come to Bama for 11.7 schollies and play against teams with basically unlimited schollies.
Gaspard or no Gaspard it wont matter. You could bring in Bertman or Augie and they wouldnt win with this deck stacked against them. Bama is in a huuuuuge no win situation. I know MS has no lottery but I believe they have a program set up for out of state students which pays like a schollie. To give a football analogy Bama is playing with 30 schollies against schools with 85.

Given the relative dearth of players and the strength of the lower conference teams here, not sure why that would be any sort of requirement. The top talent in the state that doesn't go to LSU is usually just fine taking a larger % scholly from ULL and Southeastern than paying more out of pocket to be in the SEC.
I'd much rather someone with connections to Florida or Georgia if I were Alabama.

You made no case for Brad Bohannon at all. Guessing he is a friend of yours because I've never heard of him.
Bama needs someone who can develop players and recruit. Cant win at Bama unless you can do both due to the unfavorable scholarship situation(no lotto schollys).
Its a tough job and will be a tough hire.
