AU returns everyone next year. I believe 19/22 starters and almost everyone on the 2nd string as well.

We have been improving as the season has progressed. Our problem has been inexperience. Next year we have the experience. And don't kid yourself about the talent. We are in the running for another top 5 class and everyone has been qualifying. Next year the talent gap between AU and LSU/Bama will be narrowed a lot and we will actually have a team that has more experience in terms of games started than either LSU or Bama I suspect.

Me neither.

More experience. Equal talent over what will be the last 3 year's recruiting classes. 2010, 2011, 2012.

why is auburn so confident it'll be better than arkansas next year?

Auburn has showed me nothing to believe they won't be a doormat for the SEC elite again next year

mett is physically there, but the lack of real experience is still a question mark...I think he'll be fine and has the tools around him like McElroy did with Bama.

Talking to Jerrard, Moffit wants him to get up to 200#. It sounds like they plan to use him next year like they are using JJ this year.

I'm sure it'll be close. LSU loses I think 1 lineman, 2 qbs, maybe the number 1 receiver, 1 rotating DE, 1 starting CB and a backup CB.

Saban has had Bama ranked #1 or #2 in recruiting the last 3 or 4 years and LSU's ranked #1 just once and usually finish between 6-8, so no way we can have the players to compete IMO.

Me neither. They should be better than this year and Alabama should be worse than this year, but that gap right now looks very big. I don't know that they are going to close it in one year.

I can definitely see Randall coming in a JJ role. That'd be another interesting qb mix up to see. I watched some of his tape and he looks pretty damn good.

I guess we'll see after the iron bowl how big that gap really is.

I'm not interested in another true away game in the SEC championship.

It might keep UGA out of the Conference Championship, but it will give Auburn a decent boost in the rankings.

Which would help Bama if they they win the Iron Bowl...

Well, you guys lose 20 seniors listed on your depth chart and 9 listed as starters. AU loses 7 total and 3 starters (who will actually all be upgraded with more talented players).

ETA: Actually 4 starters - Mosley and Greene on offense and Thorpe and Freeman on defense.

Possibly replaced by Westerman/Robinson/Latu and Frost/Rose. Should be more talented or experienced at all 22 positions on the team next year. All of em.

I'm not even taking this into account, because if we lose to Arkansas at home, we don't deserve to go to Atlanta.

I am, however, sick of playing Georgia in the SEC championship and having only 30% LSU fans in the stadium.

I want the highest ranked Georgia team as possible if we make it to the SEC champ. It might be a "home game", but you can't tell me LSU won't flood ATL like no other.

They've "showed" me that they have serious talent. Remember, a lot of you (and even Vegas) chose us to only win 4 games this season. We'll get 7, and possibly 8 before we even make it to bowl season. After bowl season, we could finish with 9. Noone saw that coming. Next season, I definitely see 9 or 10 wins. Maybe 11. It is what it is, and we won't suck like many of you seem to think. As TiM said, we return nearly everyone.

And FWIW, I have LSU finishing 1st in the SEC next season. But to say that Auburn will be the doormat of the SEC is laughable.
