Bama should play in the BJCC more often if you're going to shoot like this.

This is night and day from what we've seen in forever, tbh.

If we win this one comfortably, I wonder if we get a shot to be in the top 25

Agreed.

The BJCC should become the Legion Field of basketball for us. Play all of our conference opponents in Birmingham.

Could a Bama fan explain to me what sort of talent you had on the team this year? I have a hard time believing Grant was that bad if this has been on the team all along.

Basically none. We lost basically all of our scoring and our best recruit is out for the season.

He was, but maybe a former NBA COY actually knows a bit a thing about coaching

I realize that was a crazy thought to some.

Well he was that bad, he recruited well but most of his best recruits ended up transferring.

He never won us a big game, ever! We were doa at the end of games, he couldn't draw up a game winning play to save his arse.

I would kill for Auburn to have half the size of Bama for one. Grant is coaching well, but schemes only go so far if the talent isn't there and this doesn't look like a talentless team.

Amen, brother. Avery is working miracles with this team, they're playing much better than I thought they would (or could) play.

I know that we may struggle some when the SEC schedule starts, but this is a really fun style of basketball to watch. Kind of takes me back to the days of Wimp.

No doubt. at the Avery doubters. And they were legion.

I mean neither of our bigs are all that good. Taylor has had a few games where he hasn't even grabbed a rebound. Both are very unskilled.

We were picked to finish 13th in the league for a reason.

I don't know what the hell is going on. It almost seems like Grant recruited solid talent that was a horrible fit for his system. I thought this Belgian was a bust until this year.

I'm loving Avery's style. Everything is up tempo and aggressive. Lots of isolation and dribble penetration, with shooters on the edges. Taylor plays a poor man's Ben Wallace role on both sides of the ball.

And Battle was ready to keep Grant for another year.

I meant Avery.

Well, glad to see both Auburn and Bama looking up for basketball. I was hoping y'all would wallow in mediocrity for a couple more years while Pearl got started but this will do too.

Top 3 scorers gone from last year. Only real addition was a legit 6-7 point guard who proceeded to break his foot a couple of weeks ago. The only other addition is a grad transfer from New Mexico who is solid but not spectacular. Oh, and Shannon Hale, the best returning scorer is missing his second game due to "medical reasons" - which is rumored to be herbal in nature.

Right now it looks like Avery has either sold his soul to the devil or he is a legit wizard.

After year two with Grant, I was off that wagon. Avery is looking good. We need more recruits, but good things are coming.

Not to forget, a 16 year veteran nba point guard, that played/coached under Greg Pop and Don Nelson.
