That is what it hinges on and I don't disagree with your skepticism. I do not believe he can beat Bama with his arm but it will be interesting to see if they can seal the edge and contain him. We have some excellent talent at LB but I need to see this group live before I start predicting "mudhole" wins
Yeah. I think yall will win, but the game being first gives Michigan much of a chance. If you met in a bowl or later in the year, I'd take that spread for sure.

I'm saying its 28-24 Bama.

But again, I don't gamble on sports because I'm too lazy to do all the research. Have no clue how Mich's defense is supposed to be.

UM isn't going to roll over and die. UA plays up in big first games but I don't think this will be a blow out like people expect.

I think Saban will be ultra-conservative in this game. Bama wins and dominates the 2nd half, but I doubt they win big. Look at Penn State game last year and Virginia Tech game in 2009. Those were not run-away wins by Bama.

I don't know if they can stop Denard that well.

He couldn't handle Michigan State or VT's defense last year. Even in reloading year, Alabama's defense is better than either of those. He's a turnover machine to boot.

Based on the way Michigan's D looked last year and their returners, it won't matter if Denard scores a few times because our offense will put up some numbers. Michigan's D will not be able to stop Bama's running game. This will allow Bama to control the clock and keep our D rested while wearing Michigan's D down. Bama will be up by 2-3 td's once they start pulling away in the second half.

He's probably been the occasional Utah/La-Monroe fan as well.

A new and exciting thread

Don't worry, less than 2 weeks till we can talk about La Tech beating an SEC team.

I don't bet on sports, but that line is almost begging for it. If Denard has to start throwing the ball, Bama wins by 30

I didn't watch the Sugar Bowl to kind of protest 2 teams that shouldn't of been there. I saw the ND come back win. He had what 4 or 5 Int's and would been 4 or 5 more against a defense like Bama. In the 4th quarter all he did was throw up prayers, that should of been picked off. Michigan deserved to lose that game

I wasn't impressed with him in the Sugar Bowl at all.

9-21, 117 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT
13 carries for 13 yards, 0 TDs

He threw up a couple of prayers to covered receivers that should've been picks. I would advise him to not attempt the same thing against Bama.

In the Sugar Bowl, Robinson completed all of 9 passes for 117 yards and had 13 rushes for 13 yards. Yes, I think Saban's Alabama defense can handle him.

WHEN they fall behind, they WILL start turning the ball over and it WILL get out of hand.

DR just present a little different situation for the opening game. I do not think he can carry the ball effectively for 4 quarters against Bama defense but I can see a scenario where he gives them some problems.

i really dont think he will give us problems. even cam couldnt run on the 2010 defense, which was a 'down' year for our D. Denard will not be going up the middle with williams, square, and stinson there. I think we will do a mush rush to contain him in the pocket, make him beat us with his duck throwing arm, collect the interceptions and go with it. their d line is going to crumble like feta against our oline, so i see us just running it down their throat the whole game on offense, eat up the clock and make them quit. if the line stays at -12, a bet on bama to beat the spread seems a pretty safe bet to me.

Michigan will struggle to move the ball, but they'll get a couple of turnovers on Alabama's side of the field and will have one defensive touchdown. Michigan scores a TD with 27 seconds left to win 28-27.
