His performance since Dalton's injury has been enough for some team to go after him to be their starter. I believe he has taken advantage of his opportunity.

He'll end up about like Matt Flynn, who looked amazing the first time he played as a starter.

Matt Flynn part two.

Smart enough to stick around the league for awhile and make some change (good for him), but ultimately won't be an impact.

I have a question and it is stupid I'm sure but I do not watch NFL football or keep up with it. I will watch a team play every now and then to watch AJ or Julio, or some of our other players but only for a few minutes.

Is AJ actually playing good enough to win the starting job or is just going through the motions until the injured QB makes it back. Does he have a shot at being an NFL QB in the future and if not at the Bengals, anywhere?

Did he get released again?

This is like two weeks in a row some team is going to pick him up and pay him millions. Bengals aren't very smart doing that to their current starting QB.

Probably about what Cam Newton makes when he wakes up an hits the snooze button in the morning.

He's a solid backup, but let's pump the brakes just a bit.

AJ is good and has a lot to learn, however, he is performing better than some of the db's in the league.

He makes about half a mil right now

Well, he's not going to start over Dalton. He's on a really good team, and he's getting a lot of help, but on any given Sunday, he may be better than a couple other starters.

I don't think people really understand how few truly good quarterbacks there are in pro football.

I think the biggest drawback with AJ is arm strength.

AJ was a great qb at Bama. Anybody who denies this is an idiot. He made difficult throws consistently.

right now he is demonstrating he can make all the throws. On top of it all he knows how to win.

I've watched the last couple of Bengals games. He is playing well because he has a great defense, great receiver, and a pretty solid o-line to protect him. Against the Ravens, although they won, his decision making wasn't spectacular......and was indecisive as well. He took to long to throw the ball. Throw him on a shitty team, no AJ Green and I don't think he looks great.

He could probably look good in Dallas.

He isn't playing well enough to take the job from Dalton. He is playing well enough that the Bengals won't rush Dalton's return.

As far as being a future starter, it is too early to tell. He's played very smart and made some nice throws but the sample size is very small.

Like I said, he's had a lot of help.

At this point, I wouldn't be confident in saying he wins a job as a starter, but I do think he'll have a fairly successful career.

.....and I can't help that feeling that he will break in half if he has to go through a full NFL season as a starter.

it's only his third real live action in the NFL... WINSTON had the same issues early in the season.
