Georgia star receiver A.J. Green was suspended by the NCAA for four games on Wednesday for selling a bowl jersey for $1,000 to someone who qualifies as an agent.

You mean to tell me that players can't even sell their own possessions on the open market to make a little extra spending cash? What about if he wanted to sell his car, his bike, a PS3, etc. Does the buyer of those items qualifies as an agent as well?

One of Hitler's armored vehicles went for over $800,000 at auction... Did that make him inelligible?

Technically the jerseys don't belong to the players thay are the property of the university. So he was selling something that didn't belong to him to profit off of his name and UGA so there's the problem.

If he sold his ps3 for $20,000 plus agency rights, I think the buyer would indeed qualify as an agent.

It invalidated his status as an amateur athlete.

That's an extremely pricey ps3. Is it the 160 gig?

It's bullshite. He's a guaranteed top draft pick, so he'll be getting his soon, but i know he's a competitor as well, and this standing @ is eating him up. People better watch out when he's let loose on the defenses around the country.

Jersey belongs to the University of Georgia...so yes he can't sell property that doesnt belong to him.

He should be suspended, but the inconsistency of the NCAA never fails...

Alabama defensive end Marcell Dareus was declared ineligible for two games for accepting nearly $2,000 in improper benefits during two trips to Miami.

Dareus got more "benefits" but less punishment. UGA needs to use this as their example in the appeal.

the independence bowl jersey (which is the one he sold) does infact belong to AJ green. every player gets to keep their jersey from the bowl games. come on guys thats common knowledge

Darues didnt initiate the recieving of money. It was given to him. AJ went out there and saught money and found it on his own accord. Aj should have a more severe punishment that Darues.

I stand corrected.

AJ must not be a business major.

OK AJ "saught" to sell to an agent. By appearances that was a one time thing.

Dareus came in contact with agent(s) twice and received almost 2x's more than Green.

Dareus initially received a 4 game suspension, but was reduced. Green deserves the same.
