Then I thought the state of Texas will be battling to root out GMO maroon-bonnets in 20 years and that would kinda suck.

t.u. has been trying to root out all things maroon and white since 1883. No luck. And now we're taking over in more ways than one.

There was a rumor that people were organizing a mass spreading of flower seeds that would bloom purple and gold along the interstate in Tuscaloosa. No idea if it actually happened.

The box hedges at my GT father's house may or may not have come from Clarke Co.

Damn. Well I suppose the long-term damage was negligible, so it's not too bad.

We're flattered that GT folk like our hedges enough to put them in their yard.

Exactly my thought. Although I don't think one garden in Austin is going to hurt anything. We (humans) have been breeding plants and animals for a long long long time for specific traits, and responsibly for the most part. The only time you get into trouble is if the species has a significant competitive advantage over the wild variety, like the salmon that grow 2-3x larger. And even that wouldn't be a problem if there were no added health defects and consumption problems.

Develop new breed/species of state flower vs poison tree...

Yeah I think that would sum up the biggest difference in Texas and Alabama.

Leave it to people who toilet paper themselves to also think poisoning trees is cooler.
